The financial doping from such sugar daddies is killing the game and I will drop my fanhood for Arsenal if they go that route. Especially under the auspices of that sub-human Uzbecki. If anything real Arsenal fans should be proud that they're club isn't reliant on house money to sustain their club.
this is what I was saying a few days ago about Lucho http://twitter.com/#!/mattspiro/status/104573895755042816 http://twitter.com/#!/mattspiro/status/104574125019906050 I think Marseille, and Lucho, want to separate more than a temporary loan. Their is also a rumor that Lucho has a clause in his contract next year that has a £4 million out.
Ahh, in this transfer land, I come and I go but I never stay !! Must have missed it !! Cheers !! A loan seems to me the most sensible option, instead of buy buy !!
R u kidding me? This was a solution in AW's eyes? A player on loan? This just keeps getting worse. It's like a freaking 3 ring circus. Embarassing...
Lucho is not washed up .... yet !! But we all know how Wenger feels about 30+ players !! Not that it matters, but a creative player, almost-washed up, on loan for a year, and i'll be happy !!
There's no problem with taking a 30 yr old player on loan- if ur Bolton. However, this is Arsenal and we just lost our best player and will lose another top player shortly. Now is the time to show intent. A 30 yr old on loan just reeks of a club in turmoil and a manager who has lost the plot.
Nothing wrong with loaning a player. As long we are bringing quality in, that's the priority. Lets remember United getting Henrik Larsson on loan for a season, that was very effective, also when tevez first went to united, he was also on loan as well. Having said that not sure if Lucho is up to the Arsenal standard imho. I also fear for Arsene transfer strategy this summer. Here we are at the end of August and 24 hours away from a very important match against our rivals. To me that is not done by design, but more by passive incompetence.
I can't stand how Wenger keeps telling us he has made quality signings, citing Jenkinson, AOC, Miyachi and Gervinho, so just wait and we'll see he's right. I like Gervinho right now, and I have no doubt that the other three will eventually become quality players. But come on, if potential and quality are synonymous for Wenger, then we are in trouble this season, because I don't see any actual "quality" signings coming in.
Rebuilding season, get over it. We have a very good back 5 when everyone's fit. We couldn't get the right players at prices we could afford. We might sacrifice this season (oh noes! 5th place!) but we are, as always, looking good in the future. Give the new signings a chance before you write them all off.
So do ManCity, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester United. Unlike the other clubs mentioned Arsenal COULD cope without having to sell off all it's investments (players) to compete.
