Yes, its true. Hoddle said on saturday "I love the club. I have supported Spurs since I was 8 so I was as frustrated as anyone not to do well when i was manager. "Not for the first time David crossed a line saying what he did about me and i was forced to defend my reputation. "But results have been there since he took over. however that has been achieved doesn't matter, because results are so important. "So i say, 'Give him the job' - he's started well and we should see where he takes it from here. " Who knows? Maybe success will come under him. This is a genuine shout from a fan. Most of the fans want him and its important to take that into account." Bloody hell! Awfully good of him, especially since Pleat and Hodd never saw eye-to-eye. A true fan. A speedy return for Hoddle to the game! Also, my MOTM vote goes to Steven Carr for elbowing Henry in the throat. He deserved it because; A.) he's a dirty gooner B.) he's French
I give props to Hoddle too...... He really does seem like a good guy/bloke who has a real rooting interest in Spurs- too bad he got axed. I didn't see the Carr elbow (the game wasn't televised on this side of the pond), but that's pretty damn cool. The winning goal was amazingly cheap though (I did see highlights). Why does Arsenal have so many frogs? Is it because of Wenger?
I also liked that Hoddle was big enough to say that. I find yet another reason to like the person. Frankly though, I think Pleat should keep his old position. IMHO, he's just not attack minded enough for me in the long run. I'm hoping that we get a coach that plays attacking soccer and I fear that as a coach Pleat may be a tad conservative. He certainly identifies players with attacking verve (i.e. Postiga, Convey, Diego) but I'm not sure that Keane, Zamora, Postiga and Dalmat are really producing as much offense as they're capable of producing. I'm not a fan of elbowing, regardless of who is the recipient. Kudos to Hoddle though, he's Spurs though and through. -Digital
while i doubt that sigi, the la galaxy coach, will get the sack for the worst season in our history and the most pathetic surrender of a 4 goal lead i have ever, ever seen. should the job in LA become available, i would love to see the hodd be given a chance out here.
IMHO, the only way Sigi gets fired (remember all the titles he's won and the international success) is if the club gets sold to Vergara (Chivas) or Televisa (Club America) neither of which seems likely. But if Sigi were to be fired while AEG is in charge, I suspect that he'd be replaced with a coach that has latin connections. I seriously doubt that AEG would put an English coach in the LA market. I suspect Hoddle will coach in the First Division and work back up into the Premiership. -Digital
oh yeah i don't think he's going, and i'm actually one of the ones that think he should stay. i believe this season was an aberration, a culmination of too many little things... i'm just still bitter about the total collapse on sunday.
