From the man Jim Smith himself via the match night chat:

"My final comment is to say, stick with us, it is going to be a roller coaster of a finish but I still feel real good about our team. I can be reached at 614 447-4150 if anyone wants to call and talk. Go Crew!!"

I hope I am not the only one going to take advantage of this. My comment is as follows -

I say send Andrulis on his way. Let Robert take over for the remainder of the season. Have Robert do pretty much all he can do at this point and that is to tell the guys to just go out there and play like you have got nothing to lose. That and make sure to manage the subs better. This way ya get the team in the news to promote and get attendance up for the last home game and god willing a playoff game or two. Then when the season is over regardless of the result you hire a proper coach from outside the league and invite Robert to stay on as an assistant because I don't think he is ready yet. Then clean house.

I don't think they will fire Andrulis before his contract is up because that means they'd have to pay him money.

I say Andrulis will be here til the last day.

They have to pay him anyways Eggy. At least booting him out now looks like the organization is trying to do something to rectify the situation.

If his contract is up why do they have to pay him.

What difference would it make now? Not a damn bit of difference.

Alright, its real simple. He either gets paid the rest of his contract while working or while sitting at home checking the Want-Ads. If he were to be fired, they'd basically just buy out his contract in one lump sum, tell him to gather his sh!t in the next 15 minutes and then a guard will escort him to his car. I doubt he'd get anything more or less than this. So... at this point in time, it really doesn't hurt you at all to fire him. Maybe you have to bump up the pay of Bobby as the interim coach, but that's a trifle. Finances are certainly NOT the issue here.

did anyone call? we've got to find a way to let the FO know we're sick of this guy. Clearly they think it ok to just wait it out. We need to do something. Quick.

Thats pretty much why I posted this. Everyone comes here or matchnight to yell about how the coach needs to be fired. I just wanted to see if like myself, anyone takes the time to actually call the people who matter. If you do not want to talk to the man directly call after business hours and leave a voicemail.

Can anyone remember a baseball manager or coach in any other major sport being fired in the last month of the season? If you're 20 games out of first you fire the manager in July and try to work on something for next year. If it's September, you just wait until they're all off playing golf.

I'm now sitting and counting the seconds until someone comes up with a major league manager who was let go in the past 3 weeks, before the regular season ended -- I'm sure I've forgotten somebody.
