Hey how come we don't have a thread yet?

Anyway, I just got back from school we're up 1-0, on a first half goal by Kuyt. Song isn't in the starting lineup or on the bench, did something happen to him?

    2-0 Feyenoord

EDIT: Opps I missed a Bosschaart yellow in the 79th minute.

at the end of the broadcast the Dutch broadcaster said, "piece of cake." At least that's what I think he said.

My really crude pbp? :p I was going off of what the annoucers were saying, it's hard when you don't understand Dutch. Luckily I had UEFA match tracker to back me up. :)

Hearts just didn't have the clas tonight to trouble Feyenoord. Missed a few players through injury which didn't help. Feyenoord were lucky that the first goal was allowed and Hearts were very unlucky that their goal was disallowed! If only the linesmen were the other way around!

Craig levein has done very well to get Hearts here. Considering 11 out of the 14 players used tonight were Scottish. There's been no money to spend on the team in years. The team is made out of their own youngsters and free transfers. And when guys like De Vries and Stamp are injured there isn't much you can do!

Hearts are the future of Scottish future. Craig Levein is a great manager and I hope they get to the next round.

Feyenoord.com didn't say why Chong-gug Song was out, but it said "who found himself out of the squad and sitting in the stands. " Which makes me believe he did something to get Gullit mad at him. If it was a injury I'm sure it would have said that. I wonder what he did?

EDIT: The Dutch version Feyenoord.nl, tells why Song didn't play, maybe Shaq will translate it for us.

    Sweet avatar.

We won, and I'm not worried why Song didn't play. I just hope we get great coin for Buffel.

You like my oversized Feyenoord avatar? I got it from Planetfootball, although I wish the white background was BigSoccer yellow.

I don't really care about Song either, it just sounds like he did something to make Gullit upset and I want the dirt. I was surprised at Gullit's choice to play right back, Zuierloon (sorry for the bad spelling). Gullit's taken a liking to this kid.

How much do you think we can get for Buffel? We didn't get very much for Brave Sir Robin.

Who can tell on the price - but it won't be great either. Maybe €3 million or so.

Zuiterloon is supposed to be the next best thing. Today was a good shot to get him some minutes and hopefully he can play a few more matches this season in the league.

A good match for Feyenoord. We hardly gave chances away. I found Bosschaart functioning well in the center this time (not everyone seems to agree on this). Saidi was top, as well as Kuyt. Goor gave 2 great passes to Kuyt. The first Kuyt picked up in the air, then he volleyed it fast and hard on the hands of the keeper. The second he could just walk in. Kalou, not having his greatest match, made the brilliant pass sending Goor free, who scored with a lobber. The first goal came from a free kick. Saidi was totally offside, but didnt hit the ball. Behind him Kuyt headed the ball in. The linesmen seemed not totally updated with the rules. Before also Kalou headed a ball in, after coming from the same line as the defenders, but judged offside. The linesman on the other side must've had an eyeproblem indeed, because the combination of Hearts had no offside by far. But in the second half we had the same problems with this linesman. In the end for the result it didnt matter.

    ratings:
    Babos 7 (no work)
    Zuiverloon 6/6,5
    Saidi 8
    Basto 7
    Paauwe 7,5
    Castelen 6,5
    Bosschaart 7,5
    Ono 7
    Goor 7
    Kalou 7
    Kuyt 7,5

    subs: Buffel 6,5, Mtiliga 6, Lazovic 6

Oh and Song was simply passed.

The officials were shocking. 3 BIG incidents they failed on .
Kalou offside - incorrect. Goal should have stood.
Kuyt goal - Saidi was offside and interfering with play (he fouled Neilson as Kuyt headed in).
McKenna goal - McKenna clearly onside,Hartley walking away from goal NOT interfering with play :( :(

We did not play well at all.Gave 100% but failed due to a combination of European inexperience, injuries and the fact Feyenoord are a far better team :)

As we have said since the draw, it will be our home games that are important to our chances of qualifying.

It always disappointing when the officials are not up to the standard of play on the field.

Good luck to Hearts going forward. I am sure glad we don't have to play them at their home when they are healthy.

Thanks for the match report Shaq. Darn I thought Song did something really bad to get sent to the stands. It is a little disappointing when you win because of bad calls by the linesman, but those are the breaks. This isn't the first time and certainly won't be the last time the linesmen mess up. I believe the other match in our group [result]Ended in a tie. Basel scored a late goal, so we top the charts![/result]
