Jeez, but that was one sweet night. And there's this on Foo's freind "Divin Hristo": D.C.’s Hristo Stoitchkov induced a penalty call on the Crew’s Mark Williams Sunday that Soccer America described as "few penalty-area dives in MLS have been as glaringly pathetic." Not much left to say about this cheating bastard. The league has repeatedly chosen to look the other way, and he knows it. Another interesting tidbit: Stoitchkov’s antics — he broke a teenager’s leg in a preseason game with a hard foul — and the shenanigans of D.C. head coach Ray Hudson (profanity-laced news conferences; running through the Crew bench Sunday to celebrate a goal) make them the Beavis and Butthead of MLS. Sounds like Ray is looking forward to more of zak's special "comedy". DC fans want to moan about the guy - I think this low-class douchebag is just perfect for them. http://www.1460thefan.com/tf.php?story=dispatch/2003/10/24/20031024-C10-02.html
If MLS does absolutely nothing for Stoitcrotch's dive, headbutt or to the referee - then that truly is pathetic.
Yeah, I don't think I got warm inside until I read that post of Bill's. If there is one event I classify as being cold (yet fun) enough to freeze an eskimo, it is the Open Cup game --- with a close second being the Mexi game. However, it is a good feeling knowing that you were one of a few that were actually there (even though only a couple stormed the pitch --- Hang, 3stripe, I'm lokking in your direction)
I did, didn't I? Went right up to Harkes, McBride, and Dunseth in their group celebration. Hell, I was amped I didn't even know what I was doing.
I forget what it was exactly that you said, before we went on and security was lining up to try to stop us but it was something like.... "They can throw us out, but they can never suspend our passion!" It was like a moment from braveheart or something...
It could be the same type weather Sunday. I hope the Crew have a chance to match the intensity they showed in the 20 of the DC game. 40-45deg, wind 10-15NW and rainshowers as a forecast should make parking easy. P.S. - You have to throw the LA game in March 3-4 years ago in the coldest ever running. 35deg with 10-20 North wind made it definitively a top 5.
