Nothing profound, but a nice piece from CrewBoy today: http://www.1460thefan.com/tf.php?story=dispatch/2003/10/02/20031002-D8-00.html
I could make more than these guys being a host 3 nights a week at a downtown resturaunt.....that's laughable.
I give those guys all the credit in the world, but I just don't get it. Can't the league stand to at least pay these guys $20k a year? I understand that their not in the greatest financial situation but given a max of 6 guys per team that's only $120k more in losses a year (not counting taxes, and insurance).
My point all along is that these developmental players should be making at least minimum wage, which they aren't at the moment.
"If that $212.50 were based on a 40-hour week it would be $5.31 per hour. The federal minimum wage is $5.15 per hour. A convenience store employee who works at $7 per hour would gross $280 for a 40-hour week. " Try again? Reading is fundamental.
I'm not sure whether they work a 40 hr. week, or more likely a 20 hr. week. Interesting and probably just concidental ( I'm sure it was JUST coincidental) the the story appeared the week after Matteo ( the designated Mais replacement - cut by the Metros ) was thrown to the Lions/Metros. Is there a play it backward type message here? Nah, just coincidence...... Have a great wedding scott - tell your Mom to wear her Angel Flight uniform.
