Hope to see you guys in the Cup again next year. It's got to be gut wrenching to lose a final on an own goal and a controversial goal. You have a heck of a team. You'll be back.
Congrats on a fine season. You have a very good team, are well coached and I know your team will be back contending for MLS Cup next year. These words probably aren't what you want to see right now but be proud of what your team has accomplished.
You are correct, they aren't what we wanna see, but after a few days, once we've calmed down a bit, we'll realize that we did have a good season, Open Cup champs, Western Division Champs, all with a team that many people would not have predicted to make the playoffs, especially with the loss of Preki, Klein, and Meola. Right now though, I'm still pissed about the game.
Hell of a season for you guys!! We will be seeing you guys lurking around the Champions Cup next year, and I am hoping that you (along with us) can make MLS proud.
Yeah, it's gotta royally suck to come that close and not get there. But major props to the Wizards on a great run. I don't look forward to tangling with you guys next season.
It really was a great season for the Wizards. Good job, and good luck next year. I was rooting for y'alls but it wasn't to be. Handballs and all. Get them next year, the Wiz are my second favorite team in MLS.
Congrats to the Wiz, the organization and especially all of your fans. I'm especially glad to see the fan support for the Wizards really step it up the past 2 years--kudos to all of you who've contributed to this. That's ultimately going to be the REAL success of MLS--continually drawing more and more fans so that after 2 years people look back and go "holy-****--they're a couple thousand more in attendance than they were before." I can understand Andrulis getting the COTY award--that Columbus streak was too much to ignore. But even the Crew fans admit he's not much of a coach. And Gansler has not only done a great job while missing some key pieces in his team, he's got a strong system down where your guys play strong, smart, sharp ball. Kudos to your team. And a reflection of that is Gansler's response to the question about Eskandarian's second goal--that "if the ref doesn't call it" you play on. KC the past few years (and especially this year) has been all about a team that doesn't whine, doesn't complain, plays the ball and plays the game and lets the pieces fall where they may. I also want to remind folks of a little incident earlier this season where Hankinson (glad he's unemployed) pulled back Mastroeni from the USMNT--and Gansler (giving up far more players) didn't even think of trying the same stunt. That was a very classy act by Gansler and KC and just a simple but accurate reflection of your team, coach and organization. I think ultimately, all the injuries caught up with your team. There are times when despite all the coaching, all the systems, all the hard work, you just need a player to pull some magic on the field. That's why guys like Mathis and Preki and others are so valued. And Klein's the best of both worlds--an MLX First XI and a hard-working son-ova-gun. Congrats on a year any team/organization in MLS would be proud to point to and good luck next year.
yah, i gave him a rep point for the same reason. is there any way you can see who gave you rep points and the comments they gave? cuz i just noticed my rep meter is green and now i'm curious.
Yeah, at the top of the screen, there is a link that says My, click on it, it'll take you to the page that will show you who gave you rep points.
why thankyou. It only showed my recent rep points. It showed 4, 3 of which were positive, 1 negative.
Thank's Joe.......far too many people cannot see past the obvious match day rivalries and we all need time to look at the big picture and see what we are all doing for the beautiful game. OK....so Sundays game wasn't too pretty from my view in section 127 but I wouldn't have missed it for the world, we have another year and I think we can have an even bigger presence in Dallas as it's within easy driving distance (now that's optimisim for you! LOL). I had fun with all the DC fans out there and they were all first class guys and girls. You also know how to party!..... All I know is it'll be fun and that is what this is about. Best we all work together to make MLS the top sporting league in the US and up the attendance figures at all games, if MLS are smart they'll listen to what all the fans have to say. Build it and they will come!.....real footie stadiums and cheap seats....it may take a while but we'll get there. Class post... Kevin
