Mihajlovic's thigh injury probably gonna keep him out. Negro or Couto even would be better defensive players but not having Miha's free kicks on the road hurts...

also Cesar is out...and the rested Lopez/Corradi strike pair should come back in tomorrow.

All three points are possible, but at least a draw would be a decent start...

Sparta at home next isn't that bad...I think Lazio can come out of the first 2 matches with either 4 or 6 points before we face Chelsea...

Besiktas was a decent opponent in the UEFA Cup last yr, should be interesting today...

Lazio scores! 1-0 on a goal by Stam. Must've been off a set piece. Yes, on a corner.

    Yeah,

I figured he didn't dance through the defense to hammer in a 30 foot volley ;)

Good goal for Lazio - hopefully this will give us chances on the counter if Besiktas comes forward. Hopefully this at least clinches a draw.

Oh, and Oddo has a yellow.

Fiore has doubled Lazio's lead in the 77th minute. Looks like this could be the perfect start in the competition for the biancocelesti.

2-0 at fulltime as Lazio has a comfortable win in their first CL appearance in two seasons. Only blemishes on the night are the bookings to Oddo and substitute Giannichedda.

    Whew

I am quite glad that our CL campaign will not have to rest on getting a result in Turkey. This way we already have 3 points in the bag. Wonderful result.

Couldn't see the game, of course, (had to watch the thumping Zidane and co. delivered to Marseille), but this should be a boost to our chances of making it through.

couldn't see the match either, but sounds like a good road performance. Absorb some pressue in the hostile environment and score 2 on the counter....

Appears the Corradi made several good chances in the air as usual...

I did watch chelsea-sparta, not real impressed with either....the second match vs sparta at home should be a fairly easy 3 points..
