Michael Carrick (Tottenham) used to be a big Adidas user but has started using blacked out Puma Execs now. He wore the Pumas for the last game of the Premiership season and during England's tour of the US but this is the first time I've found a decent photo to see what they are. http://cache.gettyimages.com/comp/5...1091711E5AD1E8AC37090CBBA875B7757C85AE85A779B
Those Pumas you see are a special edition shoe Puma has dedicated to the Italian team beacause of the three stars etched on the outside side of the shoe & italian leather outer sole of which the front part of the sole is made. I own a pair of them they look like they are blacked out because they don't have the Puma logo on the inner side of the shoe; only on the outside. The tongue is actually held by an elastic band. It's not a bad shoe to play with and that's all I can tell you about them.
Interesting. Is there a model name for them? I assumed they were the King Exec because of that elastic band across the tongue (as they were the only Puma I knew about that had that) but looking more closely the stitching on the leather isn't right. I wonder if he wears the SG ones too next season. A few years ago he was a major Adidas user and worked closely with them with the Manias. Then he moved to the F50+ last season and started using these on firm ground.
Not sure the ones I have are samples. I did see a caual shoe by Puma exactly the same in brown leather but with a casual rubber sole without the studs.
Here's another pic where you can see the polish coming off on one side so you can see the boot more clearly.
