Rangers have drawn a home match against Premiership side Manchester City in the Third Round of the Carling Cup. The match, to be played on the 28th or 29th of October, could see former Rangers Trevor Sinclair and David Seaman face the R's at Loftus Road.

Man City is currently 6th in the Premiership, sitting just one point behind Southampton with a match in hand.

This is Man City's first match of this year's Carling Cup since they qualified for Europe as UEFA Cup participants.

Man City leads the all-time series, 18-15-2, with a 3-1-0 League Cup advantage. QPR, however, holds a 5-2-1 edge in the last eight meetings. The clubs last met in 1999/2000 in Division 1, with QPR wining in Manchester and playing to a 1-1 draw at Loftus Road.

Well well well...perhaps we see Mr Reyna in Loftus vs the Hoops. How fun.

Lordy - this is one heck of a tough draw thus far.

I love it for a bunch of reasons...

    1. They'll probably fill the School End (£££)

    2. We have a bit of a jinx on them. Jamie Pollock and all. Plus, the last time I saw them at LR we won 2-0.

    3. I think we can beat them this season if they (like Sheff United) are not fully up for it. They play nice football though - big Dan vs Anelka could be a super match-up, if both are in the line-up. With them being in Europe, they should put out a reserve side.

This is a great draw. Man City will fill the School End - and Kevin Keegan will not play a week team - he only knows attack and he always tries to win.
