    Blackpool vs Everton, Premier League
    Saturday 6th November 2010, kick-off 3:00pm

A second consecutive home game on Saturday means at long last we will have played a similar number of home games as most other PL clubs. Mondays win over West Brom was only the 4th game at Bloomfield Road this season. So to be 9th with so many away games in the Greed League is quite remarkable.

Confirmation that the club will once again this year not only be wearing special "poppy shirts" on Saturday and the game against West Ham United, but the shirts will, as last year be auctioned off.

Great game today, and in the end a decent result at 2-2. Quite how the last minute Pool winner was ruled out I don't know but will watch it again later on Sky Sports to see why.

Seamus Coleman got a fantastic reception, with a big cheer and applause when his name was read out and before that a loud chant of "One Seamus Coleman". Can't be many clubs fans who would do that for what is after all an opposotion player, and he clearly appreciated it. But he was always going to be destined to score today, and at least he didn't celebrate. He has gone on record this week praising Ian Holloway for helping make him into the player he is today, when he played for us last season.

Also good to see Neal Eardley score today, and a superb free-kick it was too which caught Everton totally off guard as they must have been expecting Charlie Adam to take it. Also good to see Bloomfield Road back to the nosiy, raucous atmosphere. Totally outsung a big away following who were suprisingly quiet given they had so many fans there and their team played well.

This IS the best trip I've ever been on!

Very enjoyable game today - lots of good football action.

I too noticed that Seamus didn't celebrate - nice of him!

I'm not 100% certain, but I think that the ref called a foul on Harewood before he made the goal. Personally, I don't think he fouled the Everton player or was offside, so bad call in my book.

So, we get a point and looked much better than last game.

    :D

This was the game of the week here in Canada. First time I've ever watched Blackpool live and I was very impressed with not only the entertainment but also Holloway's willingness to take risks in order to score goals. The 4-3-3 made for a very open game.

That is great it was game of the week. There are a few exiles living in Canada and the USA, so good they get it too and of course that Blackpool are getting more exposure worldwide. To think in the 2006-07 season we were more thought of as favourites for relegation from League One (the 3rd tier in England) to League Two.

I'm loving every minute of this trip as is everyone in tangerine. I watched the highlights on the BBC Match Of The Day programme last night and also watched the 60 minute extended highlights on Sky Sports Football First show. On MOTD Alan Shearer again said what many keep saying about Blackpool under the stewardship of Ian Holloway - that the club is a fresh of breath air in the PL. We haven't come up and just tried to stop teams scoring - because we know that is not going to happen. So what Ollie does is just go for it and that has resulted of course in two heavy defeats at Chelsea and Arsenal (though getting a player sent off at Arsenal didn't help) but it has also seen some great victories, not the least of course was Blackpool playing Liverpool off the park at Anfield and earning the respect of the Koppites too.

Pity of course that Mark Lawrenson, the other "pundit" on MOTD is a Nobber. he was brought up a PKE fan and is so anti-Blackpool it is untrue. Again last night he didn't even comment about our game. That has happened time and time again on the programme when he is on. Tosser. Not as bad as former PKE manager Gary Peters though. He famously refused to ever even refer to us by name in public. He would only ever call us "that lot with the tower"....

As for yesterday, ok so we didn't win but who cares? What a game, what a performance. What was telling afterward too in the post-match interviews is what a decent and honest human being Ian Holloway is. He was full of praise for both sides, and of course as Blackpool boss he praised us (team and fans saying how much the support yesterday really helped the players). But former Nobbers boss, who is actually ok for a former Nobber, couldn't bring himself to be the same. He kept rabbiting on about how it was two points dropped and they should have won, blah blah blah. Funny how most neutrals and commentators totally disagreed with him. A draw was a fair result in what was a full blooded, open game also played in the right spirit too.

I still don't know what Marlon Harewood was supposed to have done in the build up to his disallowed goal in the 90th minute. I've seen it again a few times and can't work it out. But oh well. We did ourselves proud on and off the pitch. Nice to see Keith Southern get his first PL start against the club where he was a youth and reserve team player - although he never played for their first team. And he still lives in Liverpool so it was a special day for him. However, at times he looked out of place and IMO the introduction of the three subs Matt Phillips (who surely has to get a starting place soon), Elliot Grandin and Marlon Harewood, made a real difference and we finished the game much the stronger side.

The support yesterday quite rightly has been praised. On Monday in the 3-2 victory over West Brom, the commentators said, "Bloomfield Road might be the smallest stadium in the PL, but it is certainly one of the noisiest". And we do have easily the smallest stadium in this Greed League, but boy do we like to make a lot of noise. It helped yesterday too that there were two drummers. As well as Hoggy in the South stand, another drummer was up at the back of the Kop behind the opposite goal. Which meant chants would start at either end and created an atmosphere that not only Ollie praised, but had the Sky Sports commentators saying, "Is there really only 16,000 people here? What a wonderful atmosphere. This place is rocking". And as Blackpool pressed at the end of the game, with four strikers on the pitch for that elusive winning goal, they said that the "Blackpool Choir is in full voice".

Come on down to the sea
    See the Blackpool FC
Come on down to the shore
    Don't wanna go home
    Don't wanna go home
This is the best trip I've ever been on!
