I enjoyed watching the 8-year-olds play soccer Saturday at half time. Why don't they do this at most games? I think the fans probably like it better and I'm sure the young players will never forget it. They will probably be MLS fans for life.

    That was great!

Even all the players warming up stopped to watch.

In the game towards the North end, did anyone see the kid, like 1 minute into the game, just slide and take the other kid out?
I think Villegas tried to give him a yellow! It was awesome.

I was amazed by the skill some of the kids showed. Things sure have changed since the amoeba ball from when I played.

I agree, it was one of the most entertaining half-time 'shows' I've seen. And it must be great fun for the kids. Kudos to DC United and whoever else organized it.

The 'Kinder-kickers' were a howl....they should do that more often.

I liked the fact that the United players casually stretched while getting into the games, and Rocket Roy positioning the players defensively.

I've always kind of liked the idea of finding 10 of the drunkest guys you can out of the stands, and play a game of 5v5, with the winners getting free beer in the second half.

....put a keg in each goal. Give up a goal and the team must drink.

You could use a shot for a yellow card, and a boilermaker for a red. This is starting to look like a possibility....

When they first came out I thought they were our new signings for next season. I think they were about the right size.

I too was impressed with the skillz some of those kids had. The GK in front of where I sit was amazing. He would dive and pop back up and dive again... Very impressive. Most of the forwards only had one move though. It was nice to see the players watch them when they should have been warming up. Lots of passing and spread out play. No real swarm ball. Gives you real hope for the future.

The little tykes match beats the hell out of the guy who ran the whole length of the pitch with the ball and did his best Chris Albright imitation by shooting wide on an open net... :p

That's one more move than I had at that age- heck that's one more move than I have now!

They really should have tyke soccer during halftime more often, that was really fun to watch.

About the 5V5 Ok loser drink and the first team to 5 wins. and did any one see the flying headder? Man I was ready to tell one of the kids to sign a contract and play next to Bobby. That half time show was up there with the All-Star Game w/ Paulina Rubio. Watch out World cause when those Boys get Older. ( with my best my Rock Imitation) Finally the CUP will belong to the YANKS!!!!!!!!!!!

Just call it handicap futbol -- each member of the goal-scoring team must take a drink. The ref could prescribe a "handicap" to keep things interesting. Competitions have a way of leveling out with this method! :)
