I thought it might be too off-topic to post a new thread, but what's everyone planning on doing for EPL game watching on Sat/Sun? I'll be in D.F through the weekend and cannot miss the league kick-off. I can't imagine it'll be too tough to find a spot but Serie A/La Liga are far more popular in Mexico than the EPL. More specifically, anyone know where some Liverpool fans might be gathering on Sunday?
Tonight was brilliant! LARS and NY Metro partied hardy on Calle Genova, tomorrow Yuppies, 19 Peso Sols, get your beer on. If you want to say one nice thing to your Mexican hosts (to get their love and good service) just say "Como Mexico no hay dos." [Because there is only one Mexico!]
Getting ready to go to LAX for the trip. I am getting SO stoked, especially after reading the article in the LA Times about Landon.
I've been in Mexico for a few hours and so far so good. Nothing too dangerous so far. Let's see about the nightlife.
FYI, 1st Platoon is leaving Galeria at 10am and heading out. Subways will be full and there is good outdoor pig roasting kinda food out at Azteca, so a bunch of us are going out early to hit the stadium. Supposedly gates open at 1:30, so, we'll try to go in as soon as we can. See y'all there.
We got about 40 USA supporters into Yuppies for pre-game drinks. It was not until NY/NJ showed up that we got any singing. Some film crew doing an independent thingie were taking shots. One highlight happened when a young Caucausian couple, Monique and Eric showed up needing tickets. I told them they needed a sign and gave them a jumbo post-it note from my pocket. Eric stuck a "I need Two" note on Monique's ample cleavage and within 10 minutes they had their tickets. But in general, USA supporters doing anything together, it's like herding cats. In the long run, it's all good. Remember us in your prayers after you pray for Bob Bradley.
