GGGGGGGGGGGGOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL 11 minutes into it, Wiltord to Kanu who then gets it to young Allidiere.
what cracks me up is all the people complaining about Wenger not fielding a true first choice team. I mean this is nothing new, all top teams in Europe do it. Plus I seem to remember those complaints before the FA Cup game last year at Old Trafford. (yeah way differnt but same compliants)
33, 22, 18, 45, 27, 17, 57, 30, 25, 53 and 11...wonder if you add those up if thats the highest number ever from a starting 11 for Arsenal You can tell how important I think this game I just want to see how the young guys play.
Arsenal win 9-8 btw, for those that did not listen to it you missed out. Thats a lot of penalties and great fun to listen to, way better then the rest of the game.
Wow...we really almost blew it! That was the longest match. I followed it via 4thegame.com live text. Then I updated my friend at work. And it wasn't for the Worthless Cup, it was to move on for the highly cherished and rabidly sought-after CARLING CUP! Even Indiana Jones wants this cup...lol. Hey, I want Arsenal to win every match even if it is against Rotherham Utd. Nice to see Aliadiere get a goal to boost the young Frenchmans confidence.
How does Wiltord get to take a second kick? I would understand if the 10 other players had all kicked, but we hadn't "batted around" to use a baseball term. Please explain.
I think we had "batted around" when the keeper went up. Remember Rother were down to 10 men and I believe this happened this year in the Community Shield as well. My guess is with pks, both team have the same advantage with the same number of players. Scarey to listen to it,but fun even if my stupid dial up decided it needed to "buffer" during the game.
Yeah, when one team is down to ten men, the other team can only have ten penalty takers too. Not sure what the thinking behind this is, but I don't think it hurt us that Tavlaridis didn't get to take a kick. I was impressed by the young players tonight, Clichy and Hoyte played well in the full-back positions, Aliadiere was easily our most potent attacker and Quincy Owusu-Abeyie looked sharp when he came on as sub. I was surprised to see Cesc playing from the start as he's so young, but he played a neat and tidy game in the centre of midfield with Edu. He didn't want to make any mistakes and it showed, a lot of sideways passes, but he hardly gave the ball away at all and played a pretty mature game for a 16 year-old. Aliadiere should have wrapped the game up early in the second half, but his shot when he was put through on the keeper rolled inches past the post. We had a lot of the play, but not too many chances, Edu's free-kick brought a good save from the sub keeper in extra-time and a weak Wiltord shot somehow had the keeper scrambling. A good confidence booster for the young Gunners.
