Is it too early? Maybe so but why not get excited about our boy Saka. This kid will be something

Hard not to be impressed with him so far. He has already shown ability to be world class, which would be great for a homegrown lad.

Never too early to have a thread for someone who's been hard to drop from our XI lately. :)

    Pay him.

Though, interestingly, Bayern has someone who might be better, albeit ten months older:

Love this kid and he is one of our own. I wonder if we will ever play him in his natural position LW or will he just be converted as a LB. I wonder too who he will declare for internationally England or Nigeria. I hope he declares for the Super Eagles!

He currently makes approx 3000 GBP/wk and is only 18. How much do you want to give him?

100k easy. He has been our best player outside of Aubameyang and Leno. Wonder if any other team can offer him more?, is he a Free agent in the American sports sense or is he "restricted"? As an Arsenal academy kid they have dibs on dictating the number and then he can only accept or refuse and run his contract out....

I agree that he has been good but throwing out crazy deals like that to 18yo HG/Academy kids is what got us into trouble under Wenger. He threw big deals at "core" guys that ended up not reaching potential and then we had to let them leave as FA or practically give them away. How long did we try to get rid of Jenks but were unable because of his salary?

Saka looks amazing but throwing 100k/wk at him at 18 is gonna lead to issues with roster management and payroll that will get out of control very quickly.

If another club especially a rival snaps him up and gives him significantly more than whatever were offering that we will regret it big time. I never rated Jenks, Holding, Chambers or yes everybody inexplicable favorite Ramsey.

Saka has look amazing in his first season. If he progresses of course they will increase his salary. But going all in on an 18 year old is not how Arsenal will rebuild.

I would like to see him as LW in his natural position next year. That is a need for us. Hopefully Tierney will be the starter at LB soon and have Kola as backup or bring in a backup for depth.

Either way ,no matter at what price even I (with my limited time viewing him as I am not yet completely set up with my TV situation here at Sporting Bishop Park Apartments inside Unit 111), see it as a no-brainer, Bukayo Saka is a keeper, whoever found him must be a pretty damn good scout, so SIGN HIM god damnit!!! NO MATTER WHAT PRICE!!! OR, lose him to another club who will pay TOP-DOLLAR for him, much like United did with RVP or even like Chel$ki with Ollie who either one of them could've wound up being one of The Gunners' finest strikers since King Henry XIV when he graced the pitch at Highbury all those many years ago when we played 38 and lost ZERO!!!

It's long past time to resurrect another neglected player thread. Especially since Bukayo has taken our team and the league by storm lately... arguably MVP of our season so far.

Here's just the latest data point I happened to notice in an email from NBC with this week's player power ratings:
    https://soccer.nbcsports.com/2021/01/28/premier-league-player-power-rankings-analysis/

And shout out to his Hale End buddy ESR cracking this list!

Congrats to Bukayo, our young shining star. Who won his second straight POTM award.

Not too shabby! And no big surprise really. I voted for him both times.

In a very short time and at a still very young age, he's risen to the top of the list of players who make our XI.

That said, from a collective POV, we should all look forward to seeing some more serious and wider competition for POTM and POTS in the not too distant future. ;)

And then he goes onto greener pastures, because Arsenal struggle to challenge for shit.

He makes the difference every time he plays. He just scares defences, oh and goalies, they just trip him up and give him a PK.

Plus some nice praise from Bernd Leno today during the pre-match presser:

"There's nothing to say. His performances are incredible. He's a top player and he has a top mentality. I think it's very unusual for a young player like him because he's very professional. He feels older than he is because he's almost leading the team. This is a very good sign. I'm pretty sure he will become a world-class player. We are very happy to have him because this season - I don't know if he's the best - he's been one of the best players."

Congrats to Saka for making the England Euro squad. Quite the turnaround from this weekend when it was widely assumed he would be left out. He could probably use a rest this summer, but hopefully it will be a good experience.

Yeah, double-edged sword. He was looking pretty gassed at the end of our season so he really needs a rest. And the boss markedly took him out of the XI for the last few games. It's great that he was called up for a major tournament, but Arsenal fans can only hope that: A) the Euros are good for him and he gets to really contribute, and B) he doesn't come back with an injury or more tired than he already was.

He scored the lone/winning goal against Austria today. I had to scrub my eyes after seeing Harry Kane give him a hug after he scored.
