From this post in the SUN it seems lampard implies Jose may play two strikers and two wingers once Didier is back.

And Lampard said: “We are playing really well and there will be room for Didier when he gets fit. We have a big squad — it is a good problem to have.

“He is a fantastic player — as is Eidur Gudjohnsen. And when the two of them play along with the two wingers, we are going to score a lot of goals.

“Everyone is playing well and the games have been far from easy. We are working hard — and it is paying off.”

He could also be talking about a basic 4-4-2 though so we'll see. I can't see why Robben can't play on the right.

    Cork City.
its pretty obivious with drogba back jose will revert back to for certain games at least, the diamond 4-4-2 formation that he just loves much, after all nearly all the porto games in the champions league last year played in and around this formation.

most of our early games this year were after all under that formation, and if it wasnt for drogba picking up that knock we might be still favouring that formation even now(shudder).

personally im not a big fan of it myself,it just strip's us of width, back with porto the two wing backs were bombing forward causeing all kind's of trouble, were as so far at chelsea it hasnt worked out at all really.however even though the 4-3-3 is working like a dream at the moment,we will see him use that diamond formation again like i said at the top of the post for certain games,it's...........INEVITABLE!!!!!!

We are really playing a 4-2-4 if Jose goes ahead with it and I think he can and he will - he's arrogant enough to try it and he knows a lot more about what his players can do now - Duff, Robben, Lampard, Eidur all get back and make tackles so it is possible

    -------------------------Makalele--------Lampard-------------------
    Robben-----------------------------------------------------Duff
    ----------------------------Eidur--------------------------------
    ---------------------------------Drogba---------------------------

To run a formation like that you have to have a strong back line and fortunately we might have the best in the world right now. Makelele would probably play more of a DM role in this formation, leaving Lamps to drift forward if he likes (which he usually does) and then come back to cover on D.

watching the games, it seems duff and robben play all over the field, but duff more so on the right side, he is better with his other foot.
