Official USSF announcement today. Orlando City Stadium. ...wait for it....wait for it.......there will be a lottery. TICKET LOTTERY Information regarding ticket availability to the general public will be announced in the near future. Due to the anticipated high demand for and limited supply of tickets to the match, U.S. Soccer will use a lottery system to allocate tickets among those who apply. The process will ensure that those interested have a fair opportunity to attend the game. Certain groups will have a greater chance in the lottery process compared to the general public. U.S. Soccer Members as of June. 1, 2017, and others in the U.S. Soccer community will have their applications included in an early lottery selection phase prior to the inclusion of those applications from the general public. If you are not already a U.S. Soccer Member, click here to join now. Circle members of the U.S. Soccer Development Fund receive Group A Priority Access to the ticket lottery. Coaches Circle and Presidents Circle members can enjoy individual customer support and concierge services for their ticketing needs. Individual households or places of business will have the opportunity to request a maximum of four tickets and to apply only once. Following the completion of the application phase, a computer program will randomly select those who are to receive tickets. The successful applicants will be notified and their transaction will be completed
Yuck, another lottery with notification likely just 4 weeks or so before match day. Probably the same for the RBA match vs. Costa Rica.
Yeah they need to do this earlier. Realize that many of the hardcore US fans travel and make plans. If the goal is to keep out local away fans then it is kinda counter productive since they don't need to make any travel plans.
I might just plan my whole trip ahead and figure out the tickets later. Easy to cancel flights and hotels than wait a month or two before the actual date.
I was referring to securing a ticket. My mistake. I know when/where (not time, but I'll assume between 6 and 9 p.m.). But I don't have a ticket yet and who knows when USSF is going to release anything.
Oh got it. Well ussf controls the ticketing for it so it'll probably go like the last few rounds. Probably no more then 4-6 weeks out. Probably lottery.
Well this game now looks interesting. USA has a relatively tough home game vs Costa Rica, then a tough away game to Honduras. Panama has a brutal away game at Mexico and their easiest home game vs Trinidad. Odds are the US picks up 3 points v Costa Rica, 0 to 1 vs Honduras and Panama likely only 3 with their game vs Trinidad. That would leave this game as pretty much the decider. With that scenario a win would put Panama ahead of the US and we'd be going to Uzbekistan or Australia. Conversely two wins at home and we can book our tickets to Russia.
I'd bet a whole lot on the U.S. qualifying if we pick up 4 points in each of the final two weekends of qualifying. Costa Rica is obviously our toughest match and I suspect some sort of roster rotation like we saw this past weekend when we travel to Honduras. That said, I think a point in Honduras is the bare minimum; 3 points could be there for the taking if we approach the match correctly.
8 points would be a guaranteed qualification. A win vs Costa Rica and a win v Panama at home is almost surely enough.
How could I buy tickets if I'm not a U.S. Soccer member? Please let me know if there are other alternatives like websites or any other... I will be thankful forever.
Some of your options: 1) join USSC and get in their presale 2) join AO and get in their presale 3) join Sammers and get in their presale 4) wait for public sale 5) but 3rd party, stub hub, etc Etc..
Thanks so much guys. I'm panamanian and I would love to travel to Orlando and enjoy the atmosphere of a do-or-die situation for both teams. I should better start looking for Panama-Orlando flight tickets. The 6th option isn't a real possibility because FEPAFUT doesn't have a lottery ticket system nor a Panama soccer federation members whom could participate in a ticket allocation procedure... So I'll stand-by the 4th option.
Hermano Dani, I'll let you know soon I have more info. We have someone in Orlando working on securing tix for the marea roja.
U.S. Soccer just released special hotel rates for 4 downtown area properties. All are within 2 miles of Orlando City Stadium. I think I'm staying a little closer to Church Street and the stadium at the Embassy Suites (not on the list), but pretty cool that they put this together nonetheless.
Looks like supporters tickets on sale soon for this. US soccer says august 10 but guessing supporters and usssc will get it sooner.
US soccer seems to be seeing what AO has been doing and what's to cut in on that market. Obviously AO has a certain cache with their group but smart move by the fed anyway.
Seems they've found a better way to accomplish what they wanted from the lottery. Basically sell tickets to supporters groups and anyone who's bought tickets before going general public
