11 sec. into the match the US goes down to Italy by one.

Horrible pass off the kickoff by the USA leads to the counterattack.

of note.. that recent pan of the stadium looked pretty full(lower bowl).. endzones look kinda sparse.. but the sides look pretty good.

I didn't watch any of the US games in the WWC so did not want to comment then. But watching this game all the criticisms BS posters made are happening again! No creativity. Long balls played forward. Attempts at outrunning the opponent - in this case they look faster.

Girls, ladies, it's OK to boo at poor performances by your team or coach.

P.S. That opening kickoff play is usually abandoned by American teams by age 10.

Soccer skill level of the Italian WNT vs the continous lob a ball to wamback play of the USWNT.

Wake up, JP. That's not a cut over Panico's eye. That's a stud. Also her ears.

    Same with the Italian 'keeper.

The peices of bandaids make them look like my son after the first time he shaved with a blade. ;)

Well , USWNT is still stuck at 2 goals from run of the play in the last 6 games. + nada so far in this game, from run of play.

AH sure is doing a fabulous JOB !

LOB a ball USWNT just got lucky.(OG by Italy )

I'll disagree about the skill level. Italy is playing at a frantic pace, moving the ball around. Not so much skill as simply hitting the obviously open player. They cannot keep up that pace for 90 minutes.

Several good runs by Lilly and Milbrett and Wombat. Yes, Abby is a target for long balls, but she is dangerous in the field, too. (Witness her 43rd minute rocket. Nobody there for the rebound.)

The player who really looks out of sorts tonight is Boxx. She got burned on the opening goal sequence and has numerous give-aways.

Heinrich's at halftime about "self-evaluation" after the WWC. Try resignation.

Tesse was under major pressure by Wombat and had to do something.

Granted, judging by the way Wombat shot earlier, Italy may have been better off letting her take the shot. ;)

48th minute. Beautiful pass from Wagner to Tarpley and a nice save by the Italian 'keeper.

    61st minute.

Big Mac cracks a free kick from left of goal, near post, to put US up, 2-1.

Bernardo, would you like to meet Mike Burns.

Bivens has been playing in the midfield with Roberts at right back.

Slaton is playing left back and Pearce moved into Fawcett's central spot.
