Finishing off a delayed run on the left side in the 37th minute, Sims slipped in Luis Argudo's right-wing feed past goalkeeper Christian Caulker. He doubled the lead in the 56th minute as he curled in a 12-yard shot from the left side into the right corner. Riverhounds head coach Bob Lilley rested five regulars, giving several younger players an opportunity to play and receive some much-needed experience. Pittsburgh keeper Jahmali Waite recorded the clean sheet.
