The US beat Germany 3-1 in a pre-tourney warm-up on July 20 http://www.ussoccer.com/articles/viewArticle.jsp_1605648.html, but of course that doesn't have to mean much.

The two teams results in the group stage

Will Sukuta-Pasu play in the match? He was injured in the game against T&T and looked pretty bad, but i cant find any news regarding his condition.

And, I know I am really jumping the gun here, the winner of Germany v. England would most likely play Argentina next for the semi's!! Once again...some heavy assuming being made here!

    matches-stage2

Looks like the US struggled to get through. Though level on goal difference with Tajikistan (-1) they managed simply becuase they scored 6 while Tajikistan only managed to find the net 4 times!! Belgium is the only team they beat 2-0.

    Group E
    Team-----MP--W--D--L--GF--GA--Pts
    Tunisia-----3--3---0--0---8---3---9
    USA--------3--1---0--2--6---7----3
    Tajikistan---3--1---0--2--4---5----3
    Belgium-----3--1---0--2--3---6----3

England made it top of their group. They managed a tie with North Korea but eventually beat Brazil!!

Should be an interesting match as this german team really can't defend.

Even T&T should have scored three goals.

According to this article he might play because the injury is not as bad as feared, it's only a lacerated wound.

it would be good if we played against England:)..I think England will slowly get heart attack from Germans:...they "forever rivals":)

but first we need to beat USA..

    so we have chance...

    I see this positive again!

Ooooh exciting! The USA barely squeezed by the group stages. I'm confident we'll win.

Bring on England and Argentina and Spain in the final! :D

    Full time: 1-2
Both Germany's goal scored by Sukuta-Pasu, both assists made by Kroos. Especially the 1st one was a beauty. The US team scored in the injury time and had a good chance of sending the game into extra time at the dying minutes. The German team was better, had more and better attempts while the US chances came from long throws. Now it's quarterfinal against England.

Congrats on the win. Kroos looks like a definite keeper. Was the best player I've seen so far in the tournament. Scary good. The assist for the first goal was genius. Forget about the execution, to spot the chance in the first place was amazing for such a young player.

thx and yes Kroos is clearly outstanding, there is a reason why Hitzfeld and Hoeneß consider Kroos to be Bayerns playmaker in the future.

Well, Hitzfeld already wanted him to play for Bayern's first team in the Bundesliga last season but he couldn't due to age reasons. But this season he will get his chances to play alongside Ribery, Schweinsteiger Toni and Co.
