we are winning 2-1 at the moment, goals from Defoe and Mido, Tiano looks like a decent player so far :)

First 10 mins had my heart going. Effing wonderful goal by Defoe. BabyGol does it again. Mido looks much more like it. Hope he lives up to it this season.
A couple of nice passes from Tainio.

Maybe it's just my years of being a Spurs fan but allow me to be slightly concerned. I know it's preseason and all but is Dawson always going to be that frigging slow? Looked like a three legged turtle couple of times.

A good half. Sloppy in the first 10 minutes, but then took over the game and looked decent passing it through midfield. Boca came back into it in the last 5 minutes of the half.

Tainio played well, Defoe and Mido are class. I also thought Carrick and Mendes did some good things, Cerny is a quality enough backup to Robbo and Dawson/King at the back is something I want to see regularly.

Bad spots were the fullbacks, lack of pace in midfield and Andy Reid who looked a bit lazy/uninvolved.

Will be interesting to see what subs are made.

Will they give Fulop a half or wait for (can't remember the south african team) game?

ended 2-2, quite a entertaining game, lots of subs made, just like a normal pre-season i suppose.

    2-2.

A shame about the equaliser, we were just starting to get back on top with Routledge opening them up, then they go down the other end and score. Although after Gardner got subbed on I knew that would happen :D

All in all it was a decent enough start. we were defending and countering most of the second half, Huddlestone and Routledge impressed as subs. Routledge is a hard worker and looks so natural on the wing, Huddlestone was solid and composed, does not play like his age at all.

Lookin at the lateness of the subs and the team selection, I imagine there'll be a fair few changes to the lineup against Sundowns.

Well. That was decent enough. Defended a little too much second half. Routledge looks really good. Tainio has to play along with Carrick in the middle.

I might even let myself get a little optamistic and ahead of myself. Considering all the players that didn't even get on the pitch, was relatively easy I thought.

    :) :) :)

Yeah. Huddlestone looks good. If you told me he was starting alongside Ledders in defence over Dawson, I wouldn't disagree.

Not saying I don't like Dawson or anything.

Yeah we should just sell him for 100K

i'd personaly sell Gardner for corn beef :D

We may buy one of Boca's players if Jol is interested :)

Only negative today was Andy Reid imo. Did not really do anything out one the left wing, one halfdecent counter, but no real crosses and couldn't beat his man.

The club needs to strengthen that side a bit.

Zielger is more of a natural left sided player, Ried and play on the right aswell.

We played OK today, Tainio looks good, after Defoe went off he played just off Mido. Marney had trouble today, Bunjevcevic struggled in the first 10 minutes but played ok after that. Cerny looked good aswell.

In the next game we could possibly go like this:

    --------Fulop
    Kelly-Gardner-Davenport--Edman
    Routledge-Davis-Huddlestone-Ziegler
    ----Keane--Kanoute

Get out of my head! ;)

Before anyone ruthlessly mocks me, I'm feeling poorly. *deep breath* When Gardner came on I thought he looked OK. Nothing like his usual Magoo self. Now if we can get 3 mill then great but I think he'd be good cover if he did end up staying.

I agree, i dont think Gardner is that bad, at the moment i would take Gardner over Davenport because Davenport is unproven at Premiership level.

I think with King, Naybet, Dawson and Huddlestone... Gardner is some way off them. The equaliser was poor, backing off and leaving room for the shot, seen that so many times from Gardner and he does not seem a great influence on King either.

Next game with Sundowns will be tricky. they beat Sociedad 1-0. I want to see their goal as it's meant to be a good one.

I'm surprised Sundowns beat Sociedad, that obviously puts them top of the table, anyway i think the winners of this competition will be from the other group.

Not a bad performance. Defoe, Tainio and Mendes were pretty damn good. I thought Reidy was crap.
