    ... on ESPN is a breath of fresh air for American color commentary. Jesus, do they need to get that guy under contract!

    Agreed.

    He was a very good college player at Duke - All-American, ACC Player of the Year and scored the game-winning goal in the 86 NCAA title game - so he has some credibility in terms of the the men's game.

    And, as a WUSA coach he made the last two finals so he has cred there as well.

    I've heard him do some men's college games in the past (last year's ACC Tournament final) and did a great job. Knows his stuff, breaks the game down well, is entertaining but treats the game with respect. Also doesn't come across as a dork, unlike some of the other American soccer announcers.

    Yeah, I just got done listening to him cover Norway-Brazil and I am impressed. Didn't he coach the Beat before the WUSA folded?
