After 11 rounds of the 2006 World Cup qualifing competition, spread quite amazingly over three years!
Just who do you thing will face the might of the Oceania Champion next November?

    Uruguay? Paraguay? Colombia? Venezuela?

well theres 3 points betewn 3rd place ecuador and 9th place venezuela

at the moment its to close to call

even bolivia whos last at the moment cant be discarded since they are only 5 points from 3rd place

and with 7 games left anything can happen

especially since the qualifiers are so spread out so its hard for teams to build a consistent 11

I think its in a fight between Uruguay, Colombia, Perú, Venezuela. I think Ecuador has a very good chance of qualifying directly, as well as Paraguay, the one I don't see it make it is Chile.

I agree with Pibe. EVeryone knows Brasil and Argentina are going no matter what, I would have to say Ecuador and Paraguay, if not get's too ********ed up, are likely to be the 3rd and 4th. 5th is hard to say. But I don't like Chile's and Bolivia's chances very much. Chile had momentum but it's all gone and only a miracle can save them. Bolivia have to win all their home games. Losing to Chile, and then getting a draw with Uruaguay is their undoing. Venezuela, Peru, Uruguay and Colombia are still alive and it is going to be close. Too early to say, but good look to everyone. It is tough for me, coz I have so many Colombian friends, but I am dating girls from Peru and Venezuela...

you're dating two girls? I would like to meet a girl from Venezuela, but I haven't seen one in school yet.......I have friends from Ecuador, Perú, Bolivia, Argentina, but no Venezuela :(

It's going to go down to the last game,
I would count Chile in as been in the fight for the fifth spot.

Remember Chile has 4 games left at home against Uruguay, Ecuador, Venezuela and Bolivia....we could win all those games and that would give us 25 points...enough to fight for that fifth spot...

I think this topic has to wait for some time, it is way to early to say who is going...

the ones who say chile are out are underestimating the team

chile is pretty strong and could well take that fifth spot it will be a hard fought battle nevertheless i see little chance for bolivia though as they have played rather weak away.

    You lucky bloke,
from my humble experience girls from Venezuela are the
the most gorgeous in the whole world.

    Good-on-yer

    at home finally!
We can get it unless we get direct qualification. After all, Colombia has to play Ecuador, Peru and Chile, all direct rivals at home. Next up is Venezuela away in the "clasico de las arepas" Our pride is hurt from the last one, so we'll win this one and get revenge.

    No team should be underestimated.
Look at Colombia. Who would've thought at the beginning that they would still have a chance?
The fact that even Bolivia is still in the fight proves my point. I do think Chile has to get its act together, and this recess time is a good opportunity.

Besides Brazil and Argentina I have never seen such balanced dispute for the remaining spots. Anyone could qualify.

Personally I'd like they would be Uruguay, Peru and Colombia. I just don't want Ecuador to qualify again because they bore the hell out of me with their European style of play.

The might of the Oceania champion???? Sounds ominous.

And who might that be? Western Samoa?

    :D

    ASF,

Samoa, have left there charge a little late.

Started well with a 4-0 win over American Samoa and were unlucky in ther recent 1-2 defeat against Tahiti, but apart from that its been a little down hill from there.

Then again with their beaches and their weather, excluding the monsoons, why would you want to chase a ball around?

Which has allways intrigued me, why are Brazil so good at football when they have such a great beach?

Also when it comes down to the might of Oceania, I take it you have never drank in a bar full of large Fijian Gentlemen, it may confirm your "ominous" statement

No, I have drunk lots of powerful stuff, but not that. I will try to get to it sometime in my lifetime.

Brazilians are good precisely because of their nice beaches. They play football all day at the beach, while trying to impress all those half naked beautiful women.

    ASF,

Thats a good point about Brazil, we have some great beaches too, but we carry around surf boards to impress the women.

Anyway roll on March and the next round of qualifiers, you
have Boliva away and Colombia at home, nice easy games I would have thought.

I'm talking about that brasilian that wrote he doesn't want to see Ecuador in Germany. He must still be suffering the affect of defeat. Poor brasilian. Cheer up, I have some friends from Brasil and all them say the same as you, but it's easy to see you are just upset at the first lost in the qualifications.

Seriously, that's my idea even before that game. Ecuador plays the most unattractive football from the CONMEBOL members. Maybe you're only toppled by Bolivia. I'd prefer seing our archrivals Argentina in the World Cup, cuz they at least have something to add to the tournament.

Well, that's what you think. there is no doubt argentina and brasil will be going, and they are the best. but just because your team loses doesn't mean you should put down the team that beat yours. and unattractive? well, Salas is one of the most exciting young talents in the region, as is Kaviedes.

Agree. For me Chile has the 3rd or 4th spot. The 4 "weaker" games at home are yet to come.
