    WUDN'T U LYK 2 NO!
    This can't be good:

At least they didn't buy him lunch! (Take notes, Chelski!)

I know a lot of you are already leaning on the side of 'wish he would stay, but he's as good as gone' & it very well may be (as they state in the article) all talk just for Laporta to gain votes. The fact of the matter is if Wenger feels he has to go this far in order to fend off would be buyers, there must be a real threat to losing Henry.

Sad to say, but IMHO I don't see him signing an extension with Arsenal before season's end (which to me is the only chance we have of keeping him long term at Arsenal).:(

I think Henry and Etoo are too similar of players to be put on the same field, of course they could sort it out and it could work, because they are two world class strikers but I dont see the need for Barca to get Henry at the moment. I hope if Wenger can sign some people in January, it might convince Thierry to stay with the new-found transfer ambition. Laporta loves blowing smoke though, lets hope thats all this is.

Wenger is scared his Arsenal will collapse. People will find out that he is just an average trainer..without his 2 star players PV and TH the wenger era will end and everyone will realize the players had more influence on the team than the coach ever had

You mean it hasn't been Wenger himself scoring all these goals and winning all those balls in midfield the last ten years?? Come to think of it you may be right, I can't remember if I've actually seen him on the pitch during matches.

No, no, no......I distinctly remember that hat-trick Wenger scored against United in 1998 to secure the double. It was beautiful. The last goal....he nutmegged Schmeichel.

Wenger is absolutely right in that this is part of his re-election bid. Unfortunately, he will almost certainly back it up by bringing Henry to Barça. Laporta is in a tough spot right now, as Sandro Rosell will most likely run against him in the upcoming election. He feels that he needs to make a big move in order to win.

Sadly, that big move is for your striker instead of your left fullback. :)

For the uninitiated - "fanboy" is a degradatory term used by school children to mock people who show unwavering corporate brand loyalty. For example if if went to the Playstation 2 forums and started singing the XBOX360's prasies I would likely be branded a Microsoft Fanboy.

However as I am sure you can see this term has little relevance in the world of football, as being a "fanboy" is kind of the point, so im not sure which of your three braincells malfunctioned in order to produce this little brain fart Benny.

I've been on the PS3 and Xbox360 forums that make even the world rivaries forum look like a kava drinking party. The use of fanboy by BennyNL in the bigsoccer forums gets you a negative rep and the gasface....brrrrrrrr! Thank ya now...Roscoe!

Didn't he make a similar promise the first time around with Beckham?

Yes he did, and he failed at that because he was outbid by Madrid. Even then, he HAD to make a move to justify the hype, and Sandro Rosell lined up the Ronaldinho transfer. You can see why Rosell would pose a threat in an election.

Anyway, there have been reports that Laporta has changed his mind, an has ruled out bringing in Henry as it would impede Messi's development. I still have a feeling Madrid will make a move for him though.

Good luck. He really fits in your system much better than he fits in ours.
