Thanks for posting the line up. I would love to watch those matches but I doubt they will play it live in the states. I remember watching Slovakia play Mexico several years ago and being excited that I could watch the game miserable as it was...It sucks that it depends on who we play as to whether the game will be aired. If we were playing say Spain or England we could watch it! Oh well, Go Slovakia!

I watched the first half of the match and a little into the second but then had to work. I thought Slovakia started out strong and then Lithuania seemed to take the momentum away from them especially once they got theie first goal and the confidence that comes with it. After Slovakia equalized they looked good and came out in the second half attacking. Mucha played well. Even an away game draw is a little disappointing in our WC qualifying opener.

I saw the very end, even with 10 men Slovakia was creating more chances, but a point on the road isn't too bad.

Hey Slovaks, what do you think of your qualifying group, what do you think your chances are compared to the other teams?

I'm not a Slovak, but I follow them a bit. I think it's a relatively weak but very competitive qualifying group in that there is no clear favorite. Bosnia has a very strong team, Greece are competitive, and Slovakia has some very good players but are weak in front of goal. If someone can emerge as a consistent finisher for Slovakia, I think they have a very good chance in this group.

The other big factor is coaching, Slovakia didn't get their first choice manager to replace Weiss and are currently utilizing co-managers which I'm always a bit weary of. They've looked fairly organized in the matches I've seen them recently though.

BTW, this is a different topic, but it seems that Gambrinus Liga has become a very popular first international destination for Bosnian players.

I agree with what you've said. Yes Gambrinus Liga seems to be the next big destination for our local players, ever since Dzeko, Mahmutovic, Ljevakovic, Scuk have become successses.

Slovakia, Bosnia, and Greece should be the contenders in the group. Surprisingly, the duel coaching seems to be working well. I still think that system is not a logical one over time however. We need the Slovak team that beat Denmark away to show up every game though to advance.

I worry more about Bosnia only because I feel like I know what to expect from Greece that is usually a defensive minded team that will get a goal and then sit on it. Bosnia like most of the teams from Eastern Europe are less predictable and have the potential of scoring more goals regardless of what the score is...

I would say Slovakia would be a challange like Belarus was for us, Regarding Greece we all will see what they will do against us today, more thank likely just sit back until the 80 minute until they start to attack. With them they only get about 3-5 chances to score every game but they score at least once or twice. We Bosnia will have about 15 chances and score 1-3 times. We used to be a very slow team regarding speed, but over the last two campaigns we got some really fast players, our team has givn trouble to Germany, Portugal, France and Brail, over the last two years

I wasn't able to see the Greece match but was really hoping to come away with at least a point. Unfortunately that didn't happen and with two teams above us in the standings I'm getting nervous...

Slovakia began their rise about a year ago against my national team. They honestly outplayed us in those two games. Very well coached team with some very good players.

Another epic game by Slovakia :)

This time at the Belarus field…

    Belarus vs Slovakia

    Final result: 1 - 3
Goals: Hamsik at 65,83… Sestak at 90…
    Kalachev at 79 for Belarus.

Aspecialy first goal were pure class by Hamsik. The sec on goal by him come great following …Stoch made a powerful shot that hit the post (the golie thought its gone to the out) the return ball great rebound by first touch shot by Hamsik. It was a smart follow and finishing shot by Napoli's Slovakian star.

The third goal were rare to see ,Slovakia golie long throw goes to upfront, and air ball heading by Slovakian forward to behind the CB's ,great deep hiding run by Sestak and good finishing……

The key part of the game is; Slovakia did make a great come back. They didn't demoralized by Belarus 1-1 goal at minute79,.. Slovakian players stayed at the game and pushed the find goal,..and they got deservedly with extra one,..

At the end. Slovakia takes the golden 3 point in the away field.
They sit currently at the top of the table.

I bet they don't wanna wake up from this wonderful dream journey. :)

Congrats! and keep continue boys ;)

June 14 - Slovakia vs Macedonia in Zilina.

Game is sold out. I am hoping for a positive result for Macedonia, but they is highly unlikely.
