That's BS. There are always extra BSL trains for games- we're just asking for one!

bluetooner, I agree that the team running busses could be a great idea.

Here's what I got back from my rep:

Yeah, it was also suggested to try going to the stadium club after the game, which i'd do if i guaranteed myself i wouldn't spend a lot of money :) The safety part isn't that much of an issue for me - it is just the fact that, when i live 30mins from teh stadium - i can't get public transport home until probably 3hrs after the final whistle. I suppose it is still better than being down in GA, where there was 0 public transport....

Would the 10:24 113 bus from CTC to 69th Street work for anyone? Sure the bus is slower than the train but for anyone going to West Philly, Center City, or Norristown (depending on the 100 connection) it might be an option since the departure is so much earlier.

Trying to sell my ticket for tonight's game after seeing the schedule. I just don't have the time to wait around for an hour and a half after the game for a train that probably will be late. If anyone needs proof the schedule is hurting attendance, I'm it.

So what did everyone do on Saturday? I had sold my ticket already and missed the game. Was anybody left for the last train?

It was probably the smallest crowd for the train i've ever seen, including the seattle game. That being said - the stadium was pretty full, so there was probably a lot of people driving instead.

Sucked having to wait till 11:24 for the train to come. I didn't get back to jersey till like 1 and had to get by some shady shit on the way home.

Proof that SEPTA is willing to increase service for special events, just not ours:
    http://www.septa.org/events/bikerace.html

I know the bike race is a big deal, but all we want is one stinkin' extra train!

I'll be getting on at Ucity like I always do. I'm considering bringing my bike so I don't have to wait for the shuttles.

There were 6 people at Highland Ave. on the way home from the match. Most were dropped off but I walked from Lot C. Easy 0.75 miles on the pedometer and walked past two sheriffs directing traffic. Much of the walk is on PPL property.

I'm not recommending walking over the shuttle. However, when I do have to walk, I'm never walking to downtown Chester again. It's about 3 times as far, and probably less safe.

Yeah, I always felt safe on the trip to Highland Ave. The shuttles were great on Saturday, BTW. I think they changed the route slightly on the way in, and an employee stopped traffic to let us out after the game. Much, much better than LA.

I'm driving tonight, for the first time ever. I'm also going to call the team/SEPTA and bitch about the lack of a train home. Coordinated effort, anyone?

will do the same. boyfriend and I had planned to take septa in tonight but when we saw the train home wasn't until 1130ish it just didnt make sense. worst part is, we'd stick around if we knew we had somewhere to watch the last half hour of the gold cup final but I honestly wouldn't know where to go. I doubt even the stupid casino party will be showing it and besides, how the hell are you supposed to get to the casino at 10pm without a car? walk past the prison on a highway full of cars? ugh.

I'm take septa every day to get to work and i'd love to use it for the games but they are totally missing the boat here.

Walking is another mile from CTC.

There's a bus that goes from a road nearby PPL to CTC, to the casino...

also, i've walked that road before... it's not bad...and the prison is doing it's job (as far as i'm aware) and won't be a problem.

i've mapped this stuff out already, nothing is time efficient though.

I also drove tonight because of double duty and because the late start mandated a getaway car...

8pm starts are just a burden I'd much rather do without. thankfully the independence scheduled appropriately at 5, allowing enough time for us to see two wins in one night.

    Saturday, July 23 @ 9:00 p.m.
Real Madrid vs. Philadelphia Union | Seven Express trains added.
    Leaving Fern Rock at 7:28, 7:38, 7:48, 7:58, 8:08, 8:18 and 8:28 p.m.

Additional MFL trains (FREE connection at 15th/City Hall):
    Two leaving 69th Street at 7:05 and 7:25 p.m.
    Two leaving FRANKFORD T.C. at 7:10 and 7:30 p.m.

    --------------------------

It costs two dollars to park at Fern Rock station and $3.10 to round trip the subway with tokens or $4 with cash. (To buy the tokens, I think you may need four ones or a $5 and then you will receive tokens and change at the vending machine. If you insert a $20 you get 12 tokens and $1.40.)

Return connecting trains leaving Fern Rock:
    11:25pm to West Trenton (+Melrose, +Elkins, +Jenkintown, No Glenside)
    11:39pm to Lansdale-Doylestown (+Jenk, +Glen, No Melrose, No Elkins)
    11:55pm to Glenside (+Melrose, +Elkins, +Jenkintown)
    12:25am to West Trenton (+Melrose, +Elkins, +Jenkintown,No Glenside)
    12:55am to Glenside (+Melrose, +Elkins, +Jenkintown)
NOTE: THERE IS NO WARMINSTER TRAIN AT FERN ROCK AFTER 10:55pm. You would have to use the 22 / 55 bus at Olney, or park at Fern Rock, to attend the Real Madrid game from Warminster.

Also for those who make connections at Fern Rock to the subway, your fare could be $8 cash on board for the train (round trip) and $3.10 or $4.00 for the subway. Therefore, it is worthwhile to consider an $11 independence day pass or the $28 family pass. (Daypass Not valid for West Trenton station.) It is also possible to switch to any regional rail at city hall-suburban station, as the Fern Rock express also connects to the above trains only.
