Simply the most unbelievable game and comeback I've ever seen. 2 of Ole Miss' goals came after they intercepted poor clearances, one from about 40 yards out, the other from about 25, both into wide open goals. 5 minutes into the 2nd half, they went up 2-0, then a few minutes later, it was 3-0, and the Gators were staring their first loss to Ole MIss in school history, their first loss at home this year and an early exit from the NCAA tourney squarely in the face. Brittany Gillespie had only allowed 14 goals all year and there was no way UF could tie it up, much less win. Or so we all thought. I talked to Bernie and KHall after the match(the Gator web announcers) and they both said they mentioned during the broadcast that it looked bleak, but it wasn't over, the Gators had the capability to turn it around. And boy were they right and damn if it wasn't the most impressive 10 minutes of soccer I've ever seen. Becky switched to a 3 back formation, hoping to just get some offense going and it worked even better than I think she hoped it would. Fulton scored in the 62nd minute, after a Kellgren pass got her alone with the keeper and she stuck it home. 2 minutes later, Mel Booth sent in a corner kick that found McMillan who headed it in. A few minutes later, Frimpong was taken down in the box, D Floyd took the PK, but Gillespie saved it. I thought that would be it, but the Gators kept fighting and a few minutes later, Frimpong found McMillan in front of the net, and we were tied. During the last 25 minutes of regulation, the Gators held Ole Miss to 1 long range shot, must've had 10 corners for the Gators, I've never seen such a turnaround. It continued into OT as the Gators held Ole Miss without a shot in either period. Gators had a few chances in the 1st OT to end it, but Ole Miss made some big defensive plays. Finally with about 3 minutes left before PK's, Mel Booth sent in a beautiful long pass that found Kellgren and she stuffed it home. Her 2nd game winner in the NCAA tournament, both in double OT, about the same time. Pandemonium ensued, the place went nuts, the Gators had won in improbable fashion and I still can't believe what I witnessed out there today. I'm still stunned, I've still got chills. It was amazing. The team decided they weren't going to lose today, the seniors stepped up with the 1st 3 goals to tie it, but it was a freshman and a junior who combined to send the team to the sweet 16. Congrats to Ole Miss on a great season, they played really well today.
