Really disappointed Rubio hasn't found a team yet. I know he's on a free transfer so can sign whenever but not doing a preseason and signing this late on will only hinder his adaptation.
Another one... https://www.diez.hn/legionarios/1412496-498/kenneth-cordova-portero-atletico-grau-peru-hondureno
https://www.diez.hn/legionarios/1413609-498/jonathan-rubio-fichaje-chaves-futbol-portugal-hondureno Rubio signs for second division Deportivo Chaves. Really poor, definitely a step back having had a good season in the first division. Should of stayed with Tondela...
Having read a bit more about Rubio's motives, wanting to get playing time and ensure he can get a Portuguese passport, his decision doesn't seem as bad as it first seemed. Plus, it should be easier to integrate into this team and it's only an 8 months contract to help them get promoted.
They finally play him and he scores 2 goals, hopefully with this performance he can secure more game time. Kevin Alvarez would be a huge boost to the NT. https://www.diez.hn/legionarios/1414065-498/kevin-alvarez-goles-norrkoping-futbol-suecia-hondureno
The only thing is, I imagine it was against semi-pro level opposition as it's the opening stages of the Swedish cup, played during the international break. Still go for his own morale though. Seems like he's been training hard, if I were Coito I'd still call him up for camp to access him, it's not like he's going to loose a first team spot with his club. Probably a bit difficult though given the distance and probable restrictions...
Cadiz defeats Real Madrid 1-0 with lone goal from Choco Lozano, probably his most important goal in his pro career so far.
Diez just dropped the article on this kid.. Hopefully he pans out. but on a separate note... Legion found another kid, but in Holland this time.. he grew up in the PSV academy.. plays for some amateur team at the moment, but he's 18 so hopefully it's just a stepping stone to get back into the Eredivisie or something similar. https://www.legioncatracha.com/2020...-joven-de-abuela-hondurena-figura-en-holanda/
Panama get friendlies with the likes of Japan and we've got Guate, off the back of playing Nicaragua..
Welp.. we couldn't beat Nicaragua.. and tbh we should've probably LOST that game.. and we're currently losing to Guatemala.. Imagine how we'd fare against Qatar or Japan...
Between COVID and natural disasters... Coito is literally doing the best he can.. but you get the sense that whatever we learned prior to COVID.. was straight up scrapped. This is like teaching someone how to walk again.. rough out here
FT: Honduras 1-2 Guatemala I don't think Honduras and FENAFUT will be able to shake back from COVID bro. Country as a whole is a mess... infrastructure is decaying even more rapidly.. congested league schedule... Players testing positive... Time constraints on the coaching staff.. etc. etc. It really shows.. We started the year strong and we're ending it dire.
We are probably affected worse compared to any other team in Concacaf right now. It sucks but hopefully we can bounce back by spring.
So there's a Honduran at Wolfsburg of the Bundesliga... LegionCatracha working overtime.. https://www.legioncatracha.com/2020...OMtA9NHnfkusz3U_2KiTMCZLaFZDllg2vtKTOajCx5nsU
Sooo we got some dual nationals out there.. so far they play for.. Wolfsburg Hamburg Sheffield United Lazio Netherlands Peru FC Dallas
Jheeze that list is deep although you never know how youth team players will work out but even if one or two came through that would be massive. Maynor's son is at Liverpool too..
If he gets any better then the USA will not let him go to us, we already know how desperate they are to cap tie any young guys that have potential.
Guatemalan news sources also posted about this guy because of his mother. If the USMNT doesn't pick him up I wonder which country he's going to choose? Honduras has the upper hand IMO.
