Enh. Sorry to clog the board, but this didn't seem like it'd fit anywhere else. Guys got fun substitution stories?

    bad-da-boom...

Okay, onto the topic at hand. My town runs a 6v6 tournament over Columbus Day weekend. A few years ago they instituted a "sub-on-the-fly" rule. Players are supposed to enter and exit at midfield touchline with a slap of hands. Sadly, the rule is abused and the refs usually have more to watch for than sub violations.

However, in the B14 final, one team sent a goalkeeper sub down to the goal line where he stepped into the goal and the former 'keeper stepped off the field. Blatant violation right there, compounded by the fact that the new 'keeper was wearing his team kit, not a 'keeper jersey! :)

The referee was clueless to the issue. :(

In a 3V3 tourny this past Aug., we(the group of guys I was with) were told enter at midfield, but instead just called each other entered and walked off as we pleased. Ref did fail to clarify a few things, but hey, it was just to play a kick around. ;)
