great bit of defending from convey in midfield to regain posession, pushes up to the striker, good lay-off creates a chance, but blocked out for a corner. comes to nothing as ingermarson heads well wide.

commentators say "palace looking more like the away side as reading takes the initiative"

That's his role. He plays on the left, but he's been on the right tonight for several forays, and he's often found in the middle.
man, this is way too much pressure. 0-0 would be a miracle.

palace corner creates great chance for hudson with a free header. should score, but heads it wide

convey with a try from 25 yards out. defence late to converge, tries his luck, but pulls it a bit wide, never really troubling the keeper. worth a go to keep the defenders on edge

So, Convey's shot was a good one, despite the fact that it was 1. too far out 2. not very powerful and 3. off target, according to the announcers.
Yeah, aside from that, it was great.

corner to palace, flicked on at the near post. convey with a good piece of defending to clear loose ball from the penalty spot

not a great shot, but worth making the defenders think they need to close down from there. maybe creates an opening to slip a neat pass through next time

convey with a whiff from the top of the box, almost works as a dummy as a teammate comes through to fire a shot wide on the ball as it comes through. announcers say you'll be hard pressed to get convey to admit that it wasn't a dummy. camera cuts to convey with a great smile on his face

If an attempted shot is missed completely by the shooter, can it be classified as 'bad finishing'?

    I think it's a false start
-- 5 yard penalty and repeat the down

    Okay now, come on URzzzz.
Two great games by keepers today, eh. Annoying when the other side matches Marcus.

johnson beats the trap, comes in with awkward chance, but mh out quickly. all aj can do is try to head past him, but mh out well - "very aware tonight" says the commentators.

    kitson coming off for lita

I'm having a hard time imagining a man who sits on the bench at ManU keeping this man from the number 2 slot. I'm having a hard time imagining any keeper outplaying him right now (and yes, I do watch KK in the 1bund every week, but still...)
He's a total stud thus far tonight.
Crikey, Kits again? third injury this year. He should have pulled a Beckham and gotten his fifth yellow before limping off.
downside, kits is off. upside, the hat-trick man is on. not half bad.

game fizzling out a bit, neither team looking to creative. despite the early fireworks, 0-0 looking much more likely. fairly open game, but both teams looking just short on that final bit of quality

long shot by doyle, about 20 yards out, never going to trouble the keeper
