I stayed at the Phoenix Youth Hostel: http://63.70.211.212/cfdocs/hostels.cfm?CITY=Phoenix It is near the downtown and close to the expressway. The neighborhood could be better, but it is OK during the day. The hostel is very run down but friendly. The helpful master has beat up old furniture set out on the equally beat up lawn. Clean bathrooms. I am trying to find updated information about the Hong Kong restaurant in Chinatown. I loved this place. It is about 1 mile from the hostel.
Ahh hell (no pun intended), if there's a match in November I can possibly tolerate Phoenix for a few days. See you at the match today Jeff.

Phoenix in November is nice. I recommend my mother-in-law's place if you can take the junk and the eccentric-ness. Actually, just kidding, I don't even stay at her house when I visit. I stay in a hotel. In a 5 bedroom house, she considers only one room habitable.
