So I get there at 7:45 and I meet up with Michael K and our esteemed moddy.

We go listen to Soundtrack of Our Lives. Good band, for some reason, the lead singer didn't interest me, but moddy and Krotchy dug em.

Lots of hot pieces in the venue. Lots of herbal...

Oasis come on and between every oldie, they played a new one off of Hindu Times.

I had a good time at this show. They looked disinterested, as usual, but more energy.

Their last encore was My Generation by The Who. That was cool.

Yeah, I thought TSOOL souded cool, I can't wait to hear the album that comes out next month.

Oasis played a couple tunes I'd not heard live before, including a really fun sounding "She's Electric". The keyboard player from TSOOL also played with Oasis since their regular tour keyboard player is still too banged up from the car crash last week.

Noel looked a little puffy faced, and only spoke briefly about the accident, noting that he'd only received 1 get well card, and had they been selling more records he would have received more cards. He also took a few seconds to shred a Sony executive sitting in the balcony for not pushing "Heathen Chemistry" properly. The exec (who I didn't recognize) glared back while his date/wife/whatever nervously giggled, all while the house lights were on...really uncomfortable and cool stuff.

Liam dedicated "Live Forever" to the City Of New York (he also wore a "New York" t-shirt), and "Cigarettes & Alcohol" to all the Brits in the audience.

As Flip said, the band played with a bit more energy than their last couple passes through NYC. The last few times I've seen them, I either sat by myself or with industry mooks (which is kinda like being by yourself anyway). Seeing the show last night with friends like I did last night is a much better way to see a band like Oasis. They are the only band I'd ever consider singing along out loud to, and to do so with buddies is all the more fun. We stood next to a pack of British girlies who were enjoying themselves much the same. A really fun nite.

And Michael K stalker Kirsten Dunst was at this show, too.

Much better than the last time I saw them, which was six years ago on the Morning Glory tour. Noel looked fine from where I was and nobody walked off in disgust, which is better than I had expected. But maybe somebody who was there can answer me this:

-- What was the deal with the microphones? The roadie switched Liam's mic at least five times and Liam was complaining about them constantly. They sounded fine to me.

-- During "Acquiesce" (highlight of the show, by the way), Liam stopped about midway through the second verse and yelled "F*** you, a**hole" at somebody or something, and stepped back from the mic and just pouted (not that he doesn't do that constantly, I suppose). What happened?

Best moment: after Noel was bitching about the record company for not sending him a get well card, Liam presents him with a little bouquet of flowers. Very funny stuff.

We got in at about 8:25 so we only saw the last two TSOOL songs. "21st Century Ripoff" was decent, but whatever that last song was ("Evermore"?) was horrific.

You thought so? Hmmm...I thought it was pretty cool, especially the psychedelic keyboard groove.

I should add to my review above that I thought that all of Oasis' songs from the new album played sounded much better live than on disc...

Do you have any info on the album? I've looked and I could only find a single that's going to be released at the end of this month.
