Saturday night's reporting of the game:

Ch. 9 -- Ken Mease gives Danny Heaps credit for scoring New England's goal. Well, he did get the last name right, but usually, Mease is one of the more accurate reporters when it comes to getting players names right (and not just for DCU or soccer).

Ch. 4 -- That idiot Jill Sorenson said four or five times that DCU lost to the Metrostars, no correction at all, no "oops, I said Metrostars, I meant Revolution." Unforgivably bad sports journalism from a so-called professional.

Neither network had highlights of the game.

Didn't see Ch. 5, News Channel 8, etc.

Frankly, do you want media coverage of this team?

I'd rather them not go around spreading the word on how bad we are.

Channel 4 is unwatchable. George Michael sets the tone, and since Darien Chapman (who was occasionally good) left, it's a wasteland.

I'm a Channel 7 fan after the (relatively) excellent job they did covering the World Cup. Sure, ABC had the Cup, but they stole my allegiance one day when they covered the Cup games and then, not soccered-out, proceeded to have the best United highlights. Other stations would have said "hey, we showed a guy dressed funny in the stands in Korea-- that's all the soccer we owe the viewers."

I also watch the local Channel 7 news (WJLA). It seems, when they do cover soccer, that Rene Knott does have a clue. And once ot twice he's actually broadcasted live from RFK, before a DC game, to do his sports segment.

Sometimes I doubt Jill Sorensen even watches sports. She tends to get things wrong, not just about United, but about the other local teams as well. I always thought Wally Bruckner was ok on Channel 4.

Jill Sorenson? excuse me? She should be at the first window taking your order and George Michael should be at the second one handing it to you. Rasslin' highlights? Channel 4 is just a few clowns short of a circus.

If DC signs Gazza, I'll get my DC news from Skysports on FSW;)

There was lots of media coverage of DC on Sky Sports News and I didn't have to hear about the team losing, so I'm safe in my dream world...living in denial.

Did you know that George is doing professional bull riding now?

I used to like the PBR broadcasts until that happened.

The locals news shows prefer not to cover soccer. It takes too much time away from the truly thrilling sports like baseball and golf.
