Is this a sign?

    I don't know if the events are tied, but consider:

    1998: Cubs make the playoffs, Fire make MLS Cup and Open Cup finals

    2000: Sox make the playoffs, Fire makes MLS Cup and Open Cup finals

    2003: Cubs make the playoffs, so far the Fire have made the Open Cup final.

    As a bit of a superstitious guy, I think I like this trend.

    I thought of the same thing yesterday! Plus the MLS Cup is being held in LA. (as it was in '98), and we could be hosting the Open Cup final at Soldier Field. This is starting to look a lot like 1998!! Man, what a fantastic year to repeat!

    Also, the last time Soccer America ranked the Fire to finish last was 1998.

    Another 1998 similarity?
