Could this land him in trouble? I don't understand Korean, but giving advice to Japan surely would be seen as a bad move?
Well they did specifically ask him "do you have any advice for japan vs. poland" But still what a dumbass he's making excuses: He said that right before the first goal, before the ball came Lewandowski was clearly behind them (the defense) but as soon as the cross came in he was front of them. Our marking timing was not late - Lewandowski just had better timing" Jesus..
Well he literally is the second in line captain. That's not even sarcasm or a joke. He's been getting the armband everytime the captain is off the field.
Which I think is BS. Seeing Ki give him the armband when he got taken off in both games really upset me. I feel like PJH should have gotten it.
They are teammates & Jang HS is the captain of FC Tokyo. Anyways.. not like Morishege will make the WC squad (actually, nvm.. he might since Vahid is the manager ).
I can't think of a good reason why that should get him in trouble. And it shouldn't, in my opinion. But I just find it funny how he was put in a situation to give advice, since he is not a good player.
well this is the korean public we're talking about here, all logic goes to hell and you can expect anything crazy to happen (but he hasn't gotten in trouble yet so..)
Not good enough. He has a very stereotypical Korean attitude that doesn't work outside of Korea. He feels entitled and privileged from his early success and is spoiled as hell. He can score all the goals he wants in K-League and enjoy all the beneficial nepotism from the domestic Korean football world but he's garbage outside of that small pond.
Why Didnt Lee Dong Gook comeback to Europe earlier though? He originally wanted to stay in the bpl he said but no bpl team wanted him, but he had bundesliga teams, plus Basel and Toronto wanted him, so why didnt he go to the bundesliga? koreans rate that league highly. plus why didnt he go back to europe instead of jeonbuk hyundai?
Lee Dong Gook said before he came to middlesbrough that, ''Despite how famous i am in Korea, I come here as a new person looking to learn'' i have to start again here and i hope to give middlesbrough fans the same feeling as i have in Korea'' so isnt that humble? and his scored vs germany and ivory coast in friendlies but should that count cos their friendlies? then again he missed vs uruguay, but south korea use him from the bench for some reason, some pple say he had low stamina, but yet recorded 12 in a bleep test.
To be fair he has the talent to have succeeded in Europe if he had the chance to grow in Europe but by the time he went to Middlesbrough he was too old and not flexible enough, hungry enough to make impact. I don't know about his stint at Bremen. His statement at being not chosen by Hiddink for WC02 says it all. He apparently didn't watch a single match and spent those times drinking and wallowing in self pity. He's sadly a product of Korean football. Hiddink didn't want anything to do with it and any success Korea has had in the past 20 years has been from players leaving overseas and growing their careers outside of the domestic Korean football institution.
