I just wrote an email to both the Breakers and to the Fulham ladies squad over in London b/c I think it would be great for the sport and the fanbase of the women's game if there were international club friendlies scheduled very soon. My impression is that while the majority of men's soccer seems to be pretty aware of soccer around the world....the fans of the women's game (esp. younger girls) don't have a full grasp of women's soccer development outside the WUSA and/or what they saw in WWC '99. the Fulham ladies were the 32-0-0 i believe last year and they have no less than 5 women on the english national side at any give time (i think i've seen upwards of 7/8 before). In addition, i'm pretty sure they were the first professional side in britain and in europe. if this sounds like an interesting idea....maybe people can contact the breakers and let them know they'd like to see an international ladies' team come thru town at some point. their website is down right now....but it can be accessed through http://www.fulham-fc.co.uk website up now......ladies link: Fulham Ladies it uses "frames" so all the info for internal links can be found on the left margin.
Another tour? They are coming over again? When? They played against the Cyberrays earlier this season in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
foreign club I would love to see England's ONLY professional women's club come over (That would be Fullham). Man U's women's team is supposed to be going professional, but that might be all talk. Interestingly, Arsenal Ladies won the championship last year and came over to play our CRays champions this year. I heard it wasn't much of a contest. It's logistically hard to have another club team come over. The amount of money that has to exchange hands, it's a world cup qualifying year so schedules are heavy and would some of these clubs provide good competition? This is a serious question? You don't want to bring over a team to blow them out of the water 7-0. In my mind, some of the Norweigen teams could compete as well as some German and maybe Fullham and Arsenal. I bet some of the Chinese teams as well, if they were allowed to travel out of the country. Realistically, this has to be a question when arranging friendlies. Should be interesting to see as time goes on, but I would be one of the first with a ticket if they brought over another team.
well, joe cummings was nice enough to return my email and said that they've tried to get something together with fulham a couple of times....but have failed due to scheduling conflicts. let's hope they both find some time perhaps in the near future.
Friendly With Trondheims-Ørn? Weren't there discussions with Ragnhild Gulbrandsen's previous club teamTrondheims-Ørn to arrange playing a friendly in the U.S.? Didn't the Breakers also play Trondheims-Ørn and another Norwegian club during their week of spring training in La Manga?

One problem, as a recent post mentioned, is competitiveness. How competitive would a Fulham-Breakers matchup be? The answer: Depends on Angela Banks. But not particularly. Remember that English women's football is in more of a developmental stage right now than a true competitive stage. You would have to go into the more competitive reaches of the UEFA Champions' League to find competitive matchups. Just my opinion.
As was mentioned, last spring the Breakers played the Norwegian clubs Kolbotn (1-0 win) and Trondheims-Ørn (2-1 loss). They also lost to Alvsjo, a Swedish Premier Team.
