After dominating for the better part of four days at the USYSA region 2 tournament, teams from Illinois were humbled for the most part today. Going into the day 13 teams from Illinois were left, but after the finals only 5 came away winners, with EIGHT teams failing to win (granted one of the games Illinois played against themselves as Sockers and Campton Raptors squared off at U15 boys).

Illinois still won the most titles, but impressively Vardar from Michigan won the most titles of any club, winning U13 girls 5-0 over CIS from IL, U16 boys by a goal over the Magic, and U17 boys in a shootout over Sockers.

Magic had two winners, coming in U13 boys and U14 boys.

Sockers who had 4 teams going into the final day (most of any club) went 1-3 with the U19 boys taking home the only title.

BG: By my count Illinois did well on the Boys side winning 4 and runners up in 2.A bit tough on the girls side with 1 winner and 5 runners up,but they all represented Illinois really well, congrats to all the teams that made it to Regionals

    Celtic:

No doubt Illinois did well for themselves at Regionals...I was just commenting on a perceived "let down" on the final day. Overall though it was a heck of a week in SD for all the Illinois teams.
