I've always been a big Bianchi fan, but I haven't been able to catch any Man-City games. Wondering what are the first impressions of him?

Here's a good video about Bianchi

    Borriello,

As a Reggina fan, when I first heard that Bianchi was to be sold, I was very very, upset. Seeing how he was one of the top goal scorers in Serie A and how he played a big part in helping Reggina to stay in Serie A was very impressive. One of the biggest reasons why I was upset was that he was getting so much playing time in Reggio. However, usually when a great Italian player goes to a "big club" in Italy, they are put on the bench to waste away as 5 minute subs occasionally. I was picturing RB on the bench at Inter doing nothing. Thank goodness I was wrong!!

He hasn't missed a beat. He fit right into the club and they are doing well for a new group! Bianchi actually scored a goal in his first game! It's nice to see that ex-Lazio coach SGE recognized his talent and got him for his team of great guys. I couldn't be happier with the way Rolando has been playing, how he is used, and how the team is working.

    Forza Rolando! Forza Man City!

I was hoping he'd come to AC Milan. At least for us he'd be playing for the best club in Europe and starting too. He definitely would have gotten the nod ahead of Gila/Inzaghi and seeing how Ronaldo is injury prone, he could've shined with us :(

Well, with Pato now on the team, Inzaghi doing well, and Gila present, if Bianchi would have been the new guy, I don't know where he would be on Milan as far as playing time. Yes, Ronaldo is injured so it would boost more playing time, but you never know. Besides, I think Milan will win the Scudetto without him because there is plenty of firepower there. Hopefully enough to destroy Inter in the derbies this year.

Anyway, Man City is a great club to be a part of. They have a very rich owner who likes to buy, an excellent coach, and a great group of players. Even Nedved encouraged Bojinov to take the opportunity to play for City because SGE is such a great coach. Plus with maybe even Bresciano, Riquelme, and Cole joining the team soon, Man City could become one of the biggest clubs in the EPL and Europe. So being in that mix and already impressing the coach is a very good thing for Bianchi.

We should stay away from Riquelme... too costly for what he'll be worth in England. He might be a 'wonder' in Argentina, but he'll be pushed around often in the Prem. Why doesn't Villareal want to keep him? Cole would be a great addition, either on the right, but mostly switching with Petrov on the left. We would have two of the top 4 natural left wingers in the premiership with Malouda and Pedersen being the others.

That and a striker would be key to our success, and I'm really growing on Geovanni, he's got skill in bunches and will be an AMAZING force off the bench with the occasional start (should start more if we trot out 5 MF's).

Bianchi has impressed me considering hes only started a few games and hes been used as a lone striker. He looks like the most natural finisher since Anelka and I'm confident Bianchi will get over 10 goals this season, probably nearer 15. I'm really excited by the potential he has and the kind of strike partnership he could form with Bojinov, but sadly we'll have to wait a few more months before that. As for Riquelme, rumours are hes available for a loan move so that would be worth it! True he might get pushed around in the Premiership a bit but a loan move would definitely be worth it and he has enough class to play in any league without it being too demanding for him. Joe Cole again would be an amazing signing and our best player, but I dont think he would join us because we aren't in Europe and he will soon break back into the Chelsea team.

I'm still puzzled as to why Mpenza starts over him.

    Magik,

I guess SGE has a rotation set that gives Bianchi a break sometimes and Mpenza a chance to play. That's what many big clubs with lots of weapons do.

    Forzareggina,

I've been wondering the same myself. I believe they do custom work, but it wouldn't suprise me if it's only for jerseys.

Forzareggina, heres a link to the MCFC online shop. You can get Bianchi printed on the back once you checkout your basket. The home shirt on the online shop is currently out of stock but more will be here mid-October if you wanted to get one then.

I heard he's a bench warmer now. I'm glad we didn't get him.

    Napoli,

Of course Bianchi is on the bench right now. He's nursing a groin injury he got from playing in a game last week. However, when he's not hurt or on rotation, he's scoring and has helped Man City up the table. Anyone who thinks Bianchi would be a waste on a team either isn't up to speed with Man city news or is totally ignorant.

...and I'm also happy that Napoli didn't get Rolando too! At least this way Bianchi is on a team that could win the league championships. He wouldn't be able to do that on Napoli...not with Juve, Fiorentina, Roma, Milan and Palermo in the fight again. There are no penalties this year!

Is City playing a 4-4-2 or a 4-5-1 most of the time? Could Mpenza en Bianchi play together?

I think Bianchi needs to play with someone up front. I feel like every time he is alone up front he just cant help going off side. That is my only quam with him, other then that I would have him over 10 Corradis. So, I am glad to have him.

Its Bianchi's injury thats benching him. Sven Goran Erikksson said that he would most likely be starting Bianchi and Bojinov, Erikksson wouldn't buy one of the best forwards in serie a unless he wanted to use him.

Agreed. Bianchi needs some time, he won't be another Big Sam... but even he is having another go at the 1st team.

I agree with Bianchi not being a lone target striker in a 4-5-1, but I will argue that he needs 'creative' feeders MF's to help him moreso than another striker that we have (until Boj comes back) since he is a clinical finisher and scrappy around the box. (something we've needed for some time)

    ----------------Bianchi------------------
    -------Geovanni---------Elano-----------
    Petrov--------Johnson------------Ireland?
    ----------------------------------------
    Garrido----Dunne----Richards------Corluka

    ---------Bianchi-----Other Striker-------
    ---------------------------------------
    Petrov-----Johnson--Hamman-----Elano
    ----------------------------------------
    Garrido----Dunne----Richards------Corluka

I have always been fairly dissapointed with Stephen Ireland, and knowing that he's young I still feel he has a great future ahead of him... but I think we should procure a Right sided winger in Jan. (Bresciano) at least just for flexibility.

    gdub,

Nice formations you got there. Come January, the "other striker" spot could be filled with Bojinov. Won't that be great!

Your first formation is cool as well because besides Bianchi, you've listed Elano and Geovanni as well. Boy, we have some power on this team. Good to have an owner that isn't a cheapskate.

SGE wants to make the club great...and thats all we citizens ask for.

My best friend, who for some reason supports ManU even admitted that City will be a powerhouse this year.

LOL. No offense to City fans as I cheer your club on, but winning the league anytime soon is a long shot. If it happens, we'll all be partying! I think the probability is the same as Napoli winning the scudetto this year.

    Napoli,

Mmmmmm, I don't think so. No offense, but Man City has a better chance at winning the Premireship than Napoli has with the Scudetto. There are a couple of big reasons:

    1) Juventus is back in Serie A.

    and

    2) There are no penalized teams this season.

That means besides, "the paper Scudetto winners" of last season, there is Juventus, Roma, Fiorentina, Palermo, and Milan in the mix as well. That doesn't sound too easy to me.

Palermo and Fiorentina, and even Milan on a bad day, can be matched by Napoli. We're no push overs.
Man City have the big 4 in the Prem to deal with. Granted, Man City might finish higher on the table, but to win the league? Nothing is easy in this sport, but nothing is impossible as well.
