We got the best possible result out of the Columbus/Colorado game a 1-1 tie. So were just 2 points out of the 8th seed, but like I said above it's still a MUST WIN!
I feel safe predicting that Cuauh will be fouled...a lot. I also feel safe predicting Fire win 2-0. This is a MUST WIN!
Will this game have gridiron lines too? 'Cause I'm about fookin sick of them. Jesus it's like 4 of our last 5 will have been played on these monstrosities or something.
I wish this game would be on TV. This sucks they add my50 TV game to two home games there are already being televised by Telefutura and there home games. Why couldn't they have televisied the Columbus game and the October 13th game against DC United both are NOT ON TV.
I agree that this is a "must-win" for our FIRE. I do, however, believe it to be a difficult task at this time. Consider: 1. Unbelievably, with the injuries to Mapp and Guerrero, and the Costa Rica call-up for Segares, I'm not entirely sure as to who will man the left side of the MF. Gutierrez, perhaps? 2. For that matter, who will man the Right side of MF in this match? Pause? Menezes? The lumbering Soumare? Robinson? Monteiro? 3. With the entire starting left side of this team gone to injury or national team duty, who will move over to play LB? Robinson? 4. [Assuming he gets his papers] How match fit is Conde at this point? In any case, this was a lineup I cobbled together, given the injuries http://web.mlsnet.com/stats/injuries.jsp and the club's national team commitments: Pickens Pause Brown Conde Robinson Armas Menezes Gutierrez Blanco Wanchope Rolfe Subs: Carr for Menezes, Soumare for Armas, Barrett for Blanco FIRE 1 - Cowlumbus 0
During the NY game Rolfe almost appeared to play a withdrawn forward or advanced midfielder spot. Not sure if Osorio directed him to or what, but he needs to dedicate his efforts to playing up top without defensive responsibilities (because he sucks at defense). Whoever is in in the midfield needs to be able to do their job up and down that line to keep he and Wonchope free up top. And yea, this is a must win. This is one of the few games remaining against a non 'top of the heap team'. It certainly isn't going to get easier as the season wraps up.
Pickens Pause ---- Brown --- Conde --- Robinson Soumare Menezes -------------- Gutierrez Blanco Barrett ------- Rolfe Fire 2-1 CBus Soumare's job is to kill anyone with the ball and stomp a mudhole in anyone that drops Blanco.

Just curious--Robinson apparently got a red card in the reserve game this last weekend. Will that have any impact on him playing in the Columbus game? If so, Osorio is going to have quite a job of putting together a lineup for Saturday night.
Totally not trolling here, but I would like to see you guys start Jon Busch in goal. Pickens is a great keeper but I think starting Busch at Crew stadium vs the team who dropped him like a piece of shit would be very motivating for him I think. And those damn Gridiron lines should hopefully be mowed off by Saturday, I don't think we are hosting any stupid High School football games before then... Best of luck to you gents and hope to see a strong turnout from ya on Saturday. May the best team win (the Crew of course, lol)!
