Per the discussion earlier, if you open the ESPN app > Browse > Soccer > The top row is the leagues. Just go to the league or cup you want. The only hold up is if you want to watch a friendly.

But to my broken record post: Why does ESPN even feel the need to have a studio pre-game, half-time, and post-game for FA Cup? These materials come with the packages they purchase from the FA. I get it if the games are airing on ESPN or ESPN2 but on ESPN+, I would guess people want lower cost. Don't beef up your production costs and pass those on to us. Keep it lean, especially since the packages from England are better. Those folks are covering English football. And go with the commentary from England as well. Taylor Twellman is not going to entice US viewers who do not already watch this competition.

If you want to watch a friendly (or a La Liga match more than a week old since they lard their "on demand" with daily non-game programming for that league) you can always use the search feature (the little magnifying glass) in the upper right-hand corner of the main page, the first thing that loads, and punch in the first few letters of one of the teams.

The only time I don't recommend this is during Jan/Feb for La Liga teams as if you're behind on Copa del Rey (which has a new round almost every week) you'll be spoiled by that team's presence or absence from the upcoming games that show up in the search.

    Do tell.

I was astonished with all those lasers in the eyes of the egyptians yesterday, especially Salah, and as far as I could tell there was no mention of it by the match commentators. Only later by Kay & Ale was it highlighted. No pun intended.

Oops, I meant Algeria - Cameroon of course.

I can't explain fully without spoiling the result, but he displayed zero emotion and also misled viewers wrt the rules.

You don't have to. BUT if your interested, there is this little feature called "Spoiler" which one can employ. I'm not sure I've ever used it but in the browser you just click Insert, Spoiler and give it an optional title for people to click if they aren't bothered by spoilers. Here goes...

Tom Brady announced his unretirement! ;)

I don't know if this feature works in other reader apps, but it does in Tapatalk.

Also, I think there's a time limit / threshold when spoilers are no longer considered spoilers. For some forums I think it's 24 hours. But not 100% sure on that.

I know you and I have been posting to this forum for a long time, unclesox. I think it's safe to say that people who come here regularly, generally hope to avoid spoilers for longer than 24 hours. DVRs, on demand streaming, and the general obsessiveness of football fans who come to this thread means we're looking at a long window. Of course, once the WC draw is announced one can't expect to avoid playoff spoilers but I think a week or so can be expected. Also, that's why there are other forums dedicated to the games themselves. But I might be in the minority here. Not trying to raise a commotion, just sharing a point.

But onto the reason I came to post, which does relate to that previous paragraph. I had a 100% feeling that Portugal-North Macedonia being on ESPN2 meant every other playoff in every other federation would be spoiled so I saved that one until last. I'm watching now and Champions is dishing out results left and right. Haha. Moral of the story. If you want to watch a lot of games, if a game is on ESPN broadcast networks or if you see right away that ESPN announcers are doing the game, you best stop the stream and jump to every other game you want to see.

With that said, the dude that called the Morocco-DR Congo was spoiling the CAF games with parallel starts so if you are behind on your viewing, save that CAF game for second to last with Portugal-North Macedonia for absolute last. Haha.

I watched a few of the African matches and the announcers were all soft spoken and overall just horrendous.
Algeria-Cameroon was indeed ridiculous, no real emotion or excitement, not understanding the rules, that Cameroon had pulled ahead on Away Goals and I don’t believe he corrected himself afterwards.
    Absolutely disgraceful and pathetic.

Oklahoma Sooner's SoonerVision content moves to ESPN+ (including college soccer I guess).

Previously it aired on Bally Sports Oklahoma/Southwest.

No bundesliga whiparound coverage on espn+ on the final day. Really disappointed with that.

They kind of did with the Leipzig-Arminia match. They kept on showing key moments from other matches in real time (and they gave spoiler alerts, which I thought was nice). I'm not a big fan of whip around shows, so maybe I'm not the best judge though.

Watching the League One Playoff Final and at HT instead of going to highlights or whatever, they looped back to pregame/anthem/lineups/etc. WTF. Luckily right before reshowing the 1T KO they come back to live HT pictures with ambient noise, etc. Who's doing this? ESPN or the EFL world feed?? Whichever, it's bad and confusing.

I missed that part at the beginning and didn’t mind seeing it but was also surprised by the presentation.

Does anyone know what is going on with ESPN coverage of the Allsvenskan? They didn't start airing matches until late last month.

I know that most people don't follow Swedish football, but the atmosphere is usually good, the football compelling, and with no big international tournaments happening this summer it offers a nice little league to follow.

    That’s a big price hike for ESPN+.

But we shouldn’t be surprised… That’s always been the business model for streaming: lure subscribers at a relatively competitive price and then jack it up after a year or two.

Maybe they're jacking it up to convince people to get the Disney+ bundle.

Does anyone watch 2. Bundesliga on espn+? There’s always some issue going on. Picture quality is lagging , and toady it’s the audio quality. Every single time I turn on a game there’s an issue.

I watched ENG-ESP on ESPN+ and it ran beyond their normal end time (not saying anything more for spoiler reasons). They cut immediately to SportsCenter or something that looked like it.

I can understand why they would have to do this on ESPN2 where it was also airing, but why couldn't they continue with any post-match studio coverage on ESPN+????? This match was ripe for analysis and we had 2 good analysts in Emma Hayes and Danelle Slayton*

*Slayton who thankfully was brought in to replace the deer-in-headlights Steffi Jones from prior matches. Long may that continue.

And another oddity of the wonderful world of streaming...

The Orlando vs Arsenal match that was due to KO just now is now in a weather delay.

On my Roku's ESPN app it shows a live feed of the stadium with everyone seeking shelter.

But on my computer in web browser it shows no feed and just says "This event has not yet started"

And on my iPad's ESPN app it just pops up "starts 7:25pm" which is now 10 mins ago.

Hard to imagine the explanation for that disparity.

Edit: later on, once the stream actually started again, I started watching it on my iPad but then I accidentally closed the game and back on the main watch menu I couldn’t find the game again. It only was listed under the upcoming section and when I clicked where it said starting at 7:25. Even though it was already 8:25. Oh joy. Anyway I went back to my Roku and things were working much better there.

Arsenal played Chelsea tonight at 8pm ET. I couldn't watch it live but planned to watch the replay at 11pm... no English replay available, so I had to watch the Espanol version, which was always visible to me. I finished watching that one at 1:15am and still there was no English replay posted at that time... 3+ hrs after FT! What on earth is ESPN's rationale for that? Very disappointing, and yet another of many examples of how streaming has a lot of catching up to do compared to what DVR's can do.
