Old news but the only possible mention of it I can find. I'm not putting too much weight into it. http://www.soccerage.com/en/13/f2160.html
i dont know about costacurta,,but i have a feeling we might see this "type" of player on metro next year
looks like if he doesn't get a better offer,he's already decided to join the Metrostars; now who do you think is going to sign a 36 yo stopper for big money in a money-tight market? unless one of the stalwarts of Milan defense - maybe Parma's too - goes down in the very next few days,i don't see it happening IMO the chances to see him soon with a NY jersey are pretty high
Not MLS. They just went through contraction because money is so tight. Doesn't Costacurta make around $2 Million a year? He'd have to be willing to take an almost 90% pay cut (to $270K) to come play here. Is that really something he wants to do?
he's going to take a huge paycut anywhere else,at that point a new adventure would be more intriguing than rusting on a bench. i understand he also has personal connections in NY
He's been trying to use a few clubs as a possible exit...which to me seems like he is trying to bargain with AC.....then again he was pretty serious about coming here awhile ago. I wouldn't put it past Metro management to land him or another defensive player after our recent melt downs on defense. He'd be a quality addition..then again I was hoping for Arthur Newman from Rangers coming here next season. Even though it's yet another Italian rumour, his signing would be the writing on the wall that Balboa is all but retired.
