Ok I was thinking about this the other day and I'm obviously way too bored to be thinking of such things but bear with me for a second. Ok I noticed how when you're on highway 114 or Loop 12 there are signs guiding you to exit for Texas Stadium and the Cowboys and various parking. Same goes for the Rangers on 360 or I-30. I think it looks cool and I was wondering if anyone thinks FC Dallas is going to do that on DNT when it goes up next to Main Street. I guess now that I think about it, its more practical when you have more than one exit for a stadium and I think only Main Street will be the exit of choice for FCD so maybe its a dumb idea. I can't remember if the Stars/Mavs have signs on I-35E because I think theres only one exit for the AAC. Ok just throwing that out there...
Signs good to me! How 'bout from points north also, while you're at it? ... such as signs located on Hwy 380 with arrows to turn south onto CR 423 or DNT for FC Dallas soccer at PHP. another way to officially recognize the existence of FC Dallas SWEET Super Hoops!: SPECIALTY LICENSE PLATES: For $30 bucks extra when you register or re-register your vehicle you can get like a "Conservation---Horned Lizard" or "Be a Blood Donor" or "Native Texan" "Read to Succeed" etc. ...couple dozen choices in all, including "Dallas Cowboys" "Dallas Mavericks" "Dallas Stars" "Houston Texans." Those four are the only pro sports teams listed. (Spurs, Rockets, Rangers are absent from the TX-DOT flyer I got in the mail) Mebbe FC Dallas could ask and get themselves on a specialty Texas license plate. Mebbe the Houston Who-evers MLS team could join FCD in the request. [[[ btw: Zé Bill praise for the new Interstate signs where the "W" or "E" is now lower-case: Interstate I-35e ... or ... I-35w yes. good. praise praise praise. With the new lowercase "e" or "w" way you're not thinking it's a 3-digit number. for example: from a great distance an I-35E sign might look like I-358 ... [just a little example of the kind of utterly primitive perceptions behind my suggestions for refining the look of soccer matches] ]]] and to return to burning247's excellent topic: Don't let the Houston Who-evers get nice official hwy signs before we have ours!
I agree with you. I know that FC Dallas does have a marketing budget that includes billboards. I would like to believe they are already thinking exactly what you are thinking. Good Point! - of course, until then there is the license plate holder:
I've been told it is on the radar screen, not sure what hoops need to be jumped through to get there, though, or who is doing what (whether it is inside FCD's control or whether it is something Frisco is working on.)
I'm sure you are right, but the other question to ask is whether or not the city will put up signs directing people to the stadium like they've done in several places for the baseball stadium.
