It just goes to show how important the W-League is for development of women's soccer in Canada. The news keeps on getting better because of the new Edmonton (?) and Sudbury franchises.

Sudbury? I thought that the reason that the Dynamites failed were because of the team and not the fans. Bring it back to Montreal. Put a team in Hamilton too.

Do you think the greater Toronto area can back two women's teams (Toronto Inferno and a new team in Hamilton)?

And Montreal botched the whole W-League thing up years ago. Players came and went, coaches and management were not on the same page. If a new ownership group could be up there, Montreal could definetly add something to the Northeast division.

I don't know. Have the Inferno done well enough? Also a team in Hamilton could potentially bring in more Americans to the game than a team in Toronto would. Okay. It's just a longer trip. And when they finally get it right and give Rochester a women's team, you would have makings of a derby.(relatively speaking with the distances in these countries) So I could see it happen. And I was more or less correct with Montreal. Maybe Sudbury has a chance. The Greater area has 166,000. I don't know how far that goes but there is plenty of small towns filled with people a good distance away who no doubt would love to go to the "big city" to see some sports. Maybe it's a good idea there too.

Sudbury has a strong soccer club tradition, and I think the city will support the W-League. Sudbury doesn't have a lot of sports entertainment in the summer, and the W-League will fill that void.

A couple of articles that you might (?) find interesting...

"Following a unanimous vote the Sudbury Canadians Soccer Club has been given the green light by the local Sudbury Regional Soccer Association to proceed to make Sudbury the fourth City in Canada to have a United Soccer Leagues W league franchise."

I'd love a team in Hamilton!! A team in Oakville would have great fan support though being a huge soccer mecca city and the best girls club in canada etc. They should spurt up a few more womens teams in canada for sure.
