Can someone explain to me why is BOTH semifinals of the Men's College Cup will be airing on a one day delay. Saturday 12/11 Noon ET ESPN2 1 day tape delay Div. I Men's Soccer SF # 1. Sat 12/11 11:00 PM ET ESPN2 1 day tape delay Div. I Men's Soccer SF # 2. I don't get why ESPN 2 is airing both Semifinals of the Women's College Cup LIVE for the second year in a row and they can't do the same for the Men by airing both men's semis live. If you want to chew ESPN out about this: http://sports.espn.go.com/sitetools/s/contact/espntv.html

Times of day, perhaps? I know the start times are something like 5 & 7.30 Pacific times....toally prime time on the East Coast. Maybe they don't want to cut into some other coverage...like the World's Stroongest Man or Outdoor Games!!!

Will they be airing the full length game?

I'd rather watch two full length games a day later than condensced crap where they skip ahead for you.

Nope - if there are any overtimes, they'll edit them down. Gotta get in celebrity billiards!

Title IX is partly to blame..that is where the money is going...

Also, the women's side has done a better job of placing their championship in small markets and promoting it well...

the men's championship committe is to blame for moving the championships from Davidson....

Title IX is to blame for the Mens College Cup being a Friday that conflicts with other programming on espn2?

This is true, but you need to remember that UVA usually played in the Final Four which is right down the road.

I think the biggest mistake was playing at Ericksson Field. That more than anything sent a negative message about college soccer. A huge stadium, and the final had a team from Indiana and Santa Clara, not two teams from the area.

That being said, any coverage of NCAA soccer is good coverage.

Wow.Easy!!! Don't get so fired up and start tearing down those Julie Foudy poster's on the wall.

So tell me wise one??? The Women's final four doesn't conflict with any other programming????? Is it not on Friday????... Are there not other shows on Dec. 3rd???? I seem to change the channels and find other programs on. Is Dec. 10th a big night??? Please share some of your infinite wisdom with me. If you are so smart, you tell me why the men's final four is tape delayed. Let me on in why more women's games are broadcast throughout the year then men’s on CSTV. The list could go on.

Make no mistake about it. Title IX has taken a major toll on men's soccer and other non-revenue sports. It may not be the deciding factor in why the final four is tape delayed, but you could share a little information to the contrary in your response before you start spouting of obscenities

They only made it twice when the Final Four was in Richmond, 1995 and 1997. The attendance wasn't any better those years because of UVA, but more because of novelty. The overall attendance gradually diminished through the years as it became less of a unique event to the area.
