i'm strangely optimistic about this one, despite the fact we're away from home. boro's crappy home form continues, they're yet to take a point their either of their home games this season - i think it's a great time to play them.

wright's out injured so it looks like Martyn will start in goal. i heard he'd picked up a knock in training as well this week, but as i've heard nothing more about it, you'd have to assume he'd fit to play. i'm pretty confident having martyn in the net, he's a good keeper and didn't do anything wrong last week against Newcastle despite conceeding two goals from penalties.

..onto the issue of penalties...we've given away 5 in 5 games now which is absolutely unacceptable. personally i think one in particular was injust, but that's hardly the point. if you keep making daft challenges inside the penalty box, you're going to give away penalties.

upfront, we've got more problems with selection. rooney is fighting for a place in the starting XI but that might be a blessing in disguise as moyes has an excuse to finally rest him and play ferguson/ radzinksi up front. that leaves jeffers/ rooney on the bench - hopefully we'll see a 30 min terrorising burst from the latter rather than a full game. mcfadden may just miss out on the bench, despite apparently having a great game for our reserves during the week.

    my predicted line-up

    martyn
    hibbert, yobo, weir, naysmith
    watson, gravesen, linderoth, kilbane
    radzinski, ferguson

subs: rooney, jeffers, carsley, pistone, taylor

think we might nick this one...

Looks like a good lineup..Pistone definately needs some pine. He's been awful thusfar. I also agree with the Rooney comments. Kid needs to get healthy, so another few days of rest wont hurt

Didn't see the game despite it being on TV. Any insight on why we are so crap in the first half of every game Scouse?
