With Hartwick gone and Philadelphia U. going Division 2, will the ASC survive another year? 5 teams does not make much of a conference so they will need to add some more pretty quickly to carry on.

I doubt it. I do not see any schools moving to Div. 1 that they could add next year.

Where did Hartwick go? And is Philly already D-II or moving there next year?

Hartwick's in the MAC now, and Philadelphia U is still D-I this year.

Since Longwood officially became a Div. I school in all sports over the summer, i'd expect them to join a conference (Big South?) soon. The other sports need to have a conference title to shoot for.

The ASC might be able to toddle along for a few more years. There are always schools making the jump to Div. I. The ASC will probably have to expand its reach further west and south though.

By the way, is having 6 schools really that big of a deal for the ASC? i didn't think it got an automatic bid for the post-season anyway.
