Los Angeles GaLAxy scout, Kobi Goren (yes, he is Israeli), arrived in Israel last week and was present during Ashdod's 2-0 win over Bnei Yehuda Tel-Aviv. He liked what he saw of Haim's younger brother and got a good recommendation from Ze'ev Zeltzer of the Israel youth national team. Zeltzer has links to Los Angeles from his playing days with the Toros.

This would be a good move for David since they have a large Jewish community in Los Angeles and he is also a little bit religious so he won't have a problem in LA. My guess is that LA would let him finish the season in Ashdod, if not then he won't have the chance to see what Ashdod will look like when Athletic Club's Javier González Gómez joins Ashdod this week. Yes, the Javi González deal is official. It was posted on their website, click here.

Here are some links from Israeli websites about the possible transfer and interest from Los Angeles:

Expect to see an article in the English dailies of the Jerusalem Post and Ha'aretz tomorrow. Anyone who needs a translation just ask.

This move could have been seen coming if you read the end of this article:

I really wish he would tell more about what prevented Omri Afek's move to LA and eventual transfer to Real Racing Club de Santander.
