Messi needs to have a close passing option, the midfields needs to be close to him. I think its good idea to have DI Maria on the right since Acuna occasionally will press forward on the left flank when we're attacking. Not a bad idea to have both of them at the same time but with Di Maria playing on the right since he has played in that position many times and can also be effective. Acuna on other hand looks dead playing on the right. Mascherano wont be a problem as long he doesnt left his post too much and trying to help the attack. When we're struggling to get the ball and to score, Masche tend trying to involve too much on the attack, trying to make things happen with his pass, but he should just do what he does best and that is to defend. I think Sampa is right not to start Dybala, he has yet to figure out where or how he could be effective playing alongside Messi, since they're 90% has similar playing style. No need to force and put Dybala on big preasure in situation like this. He can still come later in the game.
The pressure will be on and we’ll need to score early. For a couple reasons. One, it will calm the nerve of the players. They can then relax and just play instead of having to constantly worry about scoring a goal as time begins to tick away. Two, the game will open up, which will give us further chances. I still believe Peru is going to sit back and try to counter us. They have players who can exploit our slow defenders. A draw is a great result for them. As I stated before, they haven’t made a World Cup since the first Reagan Administration. They are close and they can taste it. Let’s change that. They won’t be going on our expense. We cannot drop ANY points at home. We cannot place our fate on other scenarios going our way. We win out, we automatically go through. Easier said then done though.
Well, as I said before I think Peru not going totally sitting back , Argentina have history of scoring late winner and that includes against them in 2010 qualifier. So they must have realize that bunkering means they could well losing 3 points even at injury time. I believe at 0-0, they will also tries to attack, definetely more than Venezuela and Uruguay did recently. Remember that preasure is also high for them. Against Venezuela for intense, we have 3-4 great chances inside the first half alone that could have been a goal if wasnt some great goalkeeping and bad luck. 3 shots were on target, so its not like we actually failed to create dangerous chances. However, we did fail to create good chances in second half and against Uruguay. Chile will also in similar situation since Ecuador can still qualify. The same with Colombia vs Paraguay. Yes this game is a MUST win and that's it.
The last time a team with a red sash and white shirt visited la boca, it went well for the home team... oh wait...
As a Peruvian, why would you want Argentina to win?? Kidding... good luck... .... next week vs Colombia
How is this happening?? I can't watch more side way biglia passing. At least bring Enzo if not Paredes. I hate biglia, I hate the double 5 it's so outdated in modern football. Even back in the days players like Simeone and Almeyda offered so much more than freaking sideway passing
When was the last time they played in La Bombonera? And Di Maria still in the starting lineup, eh? Let's get the replacement warmed up quick.
I don't know why but the international feeds always put their cameras on the opposite end of the stadium from normal, which is really bad given the configuration of La Bombonera.
