hey, i used to follow a club called ajax cape town, which served as a feeder club to ajax amsterdam, seeing that i lived there. i heard that they had stopped there "relationship" and was wondering how the club was faring and how this really happened.
Well, i live in Cape Town and became a bit of a supporter. Ajax Amsterdam played against Ajax CT in Dec, and commentators were speaking about steven pienaar and ajax ct the feeder club, so i'm pretty sure they have maintained their relationship. Ajax finished 6th i think in the last season and have just signed a contract with puma. They're still in th African Champions League, so they're playing pretty well. They beat Jomo Cosmos in the opening fixture on wednesday, 2-1. I tried to go to as many matches as i could at Newlands, but they are not gonna play there any more so i can't watch 'em anymore. I am training hard to perhaps become a player in their junior team-but that seems like a bit of a far off dream Their website is www.ajaxct.com if u want any more info Cheers
On the topic of South African teams, Sportsnet (Canadian TV station) will be running a series on football in SA beginning this weekend (Aug 20th). Will record it and find a way to upload somewhere online for all to see. First episode will be on Kaizer Chiefs.
