From the matchup page... Gargan Out: Colorado defender Dan Gargan is out for the season after tearing his right ACL in the match against the New England Revolution on August 16. Gargan underwent successful surgery to repair the knee on Wednesday, August 29. The operation was preformed by the Rapids’ team doctor in Colorado. Rapids Pick Up Wilmes: The Rapids signed Bear Creak High School graduate Cliff Wilmes to a developmental contract this week. Wilmes played for Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, where he was roommates with Chivas USA’s John Cunliffe. Wilmes most recently played for the Colorado Rapids U-23’s in the PDL this summer. The team also upgraded Jordan Harvey to a senior developmental slot.
And another one! Commerce City - Herculez Gomez lost his starting job with the Rapids because of a nagging injury he tried to keep secret. Now he's feeling better, but he can't get back into the lineup because the team is on a roll. "Players go through injuries, players hit walls, things happen and I'm going through it right now," Gomez said. "It's a personal trial. All I can do now is sit back and be a cheerleader, support my team." Full article: http://www.denverpost.com/rapids/ci_6764102
